In the supermarket queue to pay, do you look in other shoppers trolleys? I'm afraid I do, and I try to asses what kind of person they are.

Do you shop at Morrisseysons?
Not always, but I have done it occasionally.
"Judge not, lest you be judged"
nope, i get my shopping delivered
No....unless it's a dishy man with lots of meals for one..... :-)
Would that be Mr ED, gness?
Mt 7 1-3.

yeah I have a good look at the trolleys - not the bags or purses, talk to people I dont know and smack into things.
trip over the kids ( I think ) - think children in prams are trolleys
specialty ? making it up both sides of an aisle at the same time.
( partially sighted and a bit doddery )
oh and ask strangers: is it meant to be that colour or is it reduced ?
Of course I look to see what others are buying. People watching is the best thing about shopping! (I'll also happily offer my totally unsolicited advice if I see that someone is hesitating over buying a certain product, such as wine, that I happen to know about).

Of course it works the other way round too, in that I'm always conscious of what others might think about what I've got in my own basket/trolley.

I'm not so bad now though as I was when I'd just left college and was living on my own for the first time. I hated the idea of people seeing me with an empty shopping basket as I walked around the aisles, fearing that people would view as a young guy who didn't really know how to shop. So I always got something into my basket as quickly as possible after I'd walked into the supermarket. Since baked beans were the nearest things to the entrance, I always grabbed several cans as soon as I went in.

I only forced myself to stop doing that when I realised that I'd got over a hundred cans of baked beans (and not a lot else) in my kitchen cupboard!
I do too.

But I am more concerned when people look at mine. Which is normally quite embarrassing.

Ah....the man with the ED problem, Dave....took me a while.....no he doesn't have a trolley.....he just sings and follows me around relating his....medical problem......then I do look in other folk's trolleys...anybody's trolley...the ceiling...the floor...anywhere... :-(
If someone bumps into me with her trolley (it's always a her) I wait until she's distracted looking at the opposite shelves to me then slip a few random items into her trolley. I'm evil, me.
I really don’t get this shopping trolley envy / embarrassment thing. I just go in, buy what I want and leave as quickly as possible. Unless it’s Booths or Waitrose, then I’ll have a bit of a longer browse.
I thought you meant Mr Ed the talking horse, Dave......though that'd be preferable to what I have to endure in the local Co-op.... :-(
