Called over to my favourite chippy (before I became sick) and ordered the usual fish and chips. I couldn't believe how long it took lets say 30 minutes for the order so I sorta put it down oh well there were a few of us waiting. Anyway discovered the chippy were making up a massive order for a Deliveroo guy. I was so angry,

Now do you think that's fair - somebody sitting on their a&se in the lovely house getting delivered but us standing in the queue (and pretty cold too) were second - what do you think

I think the large order came in first.
Change to a different chippy, jj.

well ok - would it have been ordered by an APP ie Just Eat - I'm unsure of APPs
Yes it would be annoying but at least you'd know your fish and chips were freshly cooked and not warmed up.

Tony we don't have great chippies where I live so I travel a bit to go to this lovely chippy.
Maybe you should use deliveroo to order. Just a thought.
They must have put their order in before you. The fact that they paid someone to collect it for them should not move them backwards in the queue, so I don't see why it is unfair.
Question Author
I was freezing waiting - you know there were about 6 or 7 guys making the order up - I thought the Deliveroo guys order would never stop. I don't think it is fair - a couple should have done the Deliveroo order and the others do the queue.
I always ring my order though and when I collect I don't have to wait behind a long queue.

Like I'm talking of very elderly people in the queue who looked cold and pretty miserable.
I only wish the least of my worries was having to queue for 30 minutes in the chippy.
We used to ring and order from chippies and other takeaways then go and pick up.
Keep going Jack, get stronger soon.
Could do has zebo does, and your fish and chips will be there waiting for you.
Maybe the pharmacist was filleting fish out the back, not praying after all.
Make your own fish and chips. Cheaper and nicer.

Sorry Jackdaw - know you are not well and yes a chippie would be the least of your worries but get well soon.

Ummmm - must say I make brilliant chips and use Kerrs Pinks potatoes - absolutely delicious but fish I cannae do well and it is pretty much the fish I go for
I don't think its unfair exactly....but it may well be bad business....make people wait too long for too often and they won't come back.
The answer seems to be staring you in the face.
JJ...the good thing about frying your own fish is you can judge it by the colouring of the batter.

I was always wary about doing it myself but tried it with this recipe. So easy and tasty.

Obviously ignore the instructions that don't apply to the fish..
