When we first got cable, (gawd, ntl - remember them?) cables fed up through front garden, went out some weeks later and was foRking flowerbeds and cut through the cable which should have been deeper.
swore like a trooper.

That is really horrible. A neighbour did prune through our sky cable once and I was furious, know it was an accident but they didn't even acknowledge it. Yours sounds deliberate
