Difficult one really, an absence of Irish terrorism on the mainland probably belies an increase in activity picked up by our security services. Who knows the real picture, let's hope we are one step ahead as we have been in preventing numerous attacks generally of late.
Ulster terrorism never really went away...we just thought it had.

Absolutely, but an increase in activity in Ulster is not necessarily reflected in the same risk to the mainland.
Well...that is not what the security forces are telling us.
The threat in NI is 'severe', a higher grade than the increased risk on the mainland.

One is still more likelier than the other.
This, from the article, would suggest something is brewing.
