Some people seem to have a lot of problems. If you can't give an answer maybe it's because you don't have the experience of a particular problem to be able to give advice. That's when it's better to say nothing. They are not silly, it might be very real to them whilst appearing silly to some readers.

I frequently choose not to answer a question as I know the answer I will give is not what the poster wants to hear.

I find that I view a lot more than I comment on,
I quite often click on an interesting title, then find that I have no interest in the subject, or somebody has already made the same sort of comment, or given the same advice that I would have given, so I don't bother.

some are daft, where a quick google search would give the answer,
some challenging, some funny, its a bit of a pick and mix - i wish those who ask for crossword help and get it. at least say ta, thank you...

Some posts interest me and I will join in if I have anything to say. Others don't interest me and I just leave them alone.

Can't say I really give the latter much thought.

I'm sure some folk post a question without reading what they have actually put.
Some questions are easily answered by Google.
Some are much more complicated and interesting to follow, even if you have little or nothing to contribute.
I'm always ready to learn from those more knowledgable than me.
