Sloopy has had a pretty shocking time with the storm surge on the Humber - fortunately a one-man crew (hero) managed to keep the sloop itself safe - although it sounds pretty nerve-wracking, as the water rose above the mooring level.

Sloopy herself was marooned away from the sloop (after her bus nearly got blown off the Humber Bridge) and took refuge with friends who were stuck upstairs listening the water rising through their house.

The pub where I had a quiet pint with her a couple of weeks ago is now a wreck and I think she may have lost her car in a flooded car park too.

It all sounds absolutely dreadful - and puts everything else we moan about into proportion.

Thinking of you Sloopy, and all your family and friends.

Hi sloopy, wondered how you got on, sure puts our minor problems in perspective, wishing you well.
I think Sloopy is one of those who gets on with it with no fuss but it must have been horrendous....

We seem to have had so little coverage of the true devastation and the aftermath.

Sloopy....take care.....and take care of that Sloop! You will of course...

Does anyone have a link to what happened to Sloopy? I've looked but can't find.

We're fine where we are Jeza, thank you, but Keadby, South Ferriby, Gunness, Burringham, Amcotts and Burton-Upon-Stather were all very badly affected
