Sandy, I get texts like that, Mr Alba gets the infernal phone calls. They're a pain in the nether regions.

If it shows as a real number e.g 07XXX etc then I answer with 'Hello, [insert my real name here]', if it is an 08XXX or Unknown then I tend to ignore them.

Business 'phone I answer with the Company name.

Personal 'phone I let it go to answerphone.

Strangely, I've yet to have one left by a PPI company.....

The standard answers used to be:

Battersea Dogs Home, Duty Dog speaking

or

War Office, do you want a fight?

or

Stonehenge, Arch Druid speaking
