It's almost time to drag out the artificial tree again, it must be getting on for 18 years old by now. I should I buy a new one, but once it's decorated it looks OK. I have some very old ornaments and some new lights. Which kind of tree do you prefer, artificial, fresh pine or LED. Or do you have one at all?

Artificial, because the needles get on my wick if we have a real one.
I prefer them with their roots still in the soil...
I prefer the LED ones as it is totally unjustified cutting down trees for just one short use as a Christmas tree.

Can anyone here else back me up on this one?
We've only ever had artificial trees. We have a 6ft one at the moment and it's lovely :)
Artificial then throw it back in the loft till next year ,not sure how old mine is but 19 years beats me.
Yes Joohnny....I had a LED one for years.
Artificial Argos special. I know this is going to happen:

Artificial. Used to have 6 ft ones but went smaller to prevent cats climbing up it - despite the smaller tree it still fascinates them.
Jonny...sorry :-)
You need to go look in Homebase, they have a great deal of a Christmas Tree in a bag, an artificial tree (different heights) complete with baubles etc., all in a zippy bag to carry it. (I bet it won't fit back in the bag, come Jan 6th!).
I've only ever had a real tree.
Real tree; a bushy one! Johnnyboy if they weren't going to be cut down they wouldn't be planted in the first place.
Has to be real, obviously.
Environmentally-wise I prefer a real one: Most are grown, specially, for Christmas, so no 'natural' trees need to be felled. The production of the plastic used in artificial trees has a far more detrimental effect on the environment. Unfortunately, my conscience goes out the window because, although I love the smell of a real tree, I hate the needles and disposal shenanigans..

I have an LED one as well which I used it last year, instead of messing about decorating the bigger one as we were going away just after Christmas. I won't be buying a tree that have been treated to not shedding their needles though.. One of the family got a huge tree last year, by Christmas day there were more needles on the floor than the tree. Nephew slammed the room door and the tree just lost it's greenery.
If you fork out for the low-drop ones then needles are not a big deal. Ours are taken away by the dustmen so no probs there (which is why I tip them!)

Lol snags just watched your link.
real one and roots.
If we were having one we would be getting a real one. My cat likes that too as he prefers to drink the water from the container they sit in.
Not sure if I can be bothered to get one at all this year.

With any luck, I'll be at the BF's for Christmas and New Year.
