// The founder of the English Defence League has been convicted of leading a brawl involving 100 football fans.

Stephen Lennon, 28, led Luton Town supporters and chanted "EDL till I die"" as they clashed with Newport County fans in Luton, a court heard.

He was charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour during the clash on 24 August last year.

He denied the charges but was convicted after a trial on Monday at Luton and South Bedfordshire Magistrates' Court. //

Makes you proud to be English, eh?

Sorry, here is the link

But it does not say what the sentence was.
I wondered why Old Git hadn't been on AB today.

From another website

// Lennon, a father of three who got married on Saturday, was sentenced to a 12-month community rehabilitation order, 150 hours of unpaid work and hit with a three-year football banning order. He was also ordered to pay £650 in costs. //
we need Molly - I can just imagine the rambling reply....."well its asort of three years with hanging or is that suspension. Or is it two years with Commonity Service and oh, no, that meens he could end up having to work in my boat."
More fun if he has to serve it in a Muslim care home......

Zeuhl,

It's been a nice day, AOG has probably been down to the allotments. Though I think I would keep a low profile today if I had extreme right wing views.
<AOG has probably been down to the allotments>

These days, aren't they frequented by lefty, middle class hippy, grow-your-own organic types?

Would suggest either some interesting over-the-cloche discussions or a quick round of judiciously applied herbicide.

Fighting an infestation of Blackfly perhaps?
Don't you think this stinks a bit, none of those fighting got pulled, but hey this one person was grabbed and charged.

[[ He was charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour during the clash on 24 August last year.]]

He was probably spotted by some leftie cop who does not like the peaceful EDL.

I say peaceful because of the link you posted earlier Gromit

[[ Breivik claimed to have had online conversations with members of the English Defence League and urged “them to use conscious strategies”. However, he dismissed the group as “naive fools” for refusing to sanction violence. ]]
Leftie cop, you're havin a laugh, aintcha?
"Leftie cop, you're havin a laugh, aintcha"

Why do you say that ????
Because leftie and cop are words that don't easily sit together.
Ok Ta, You would be surprised though!!!!!!

Christian terrorists one day, EDL thugs the next...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow a rent boy will reveal he's had a ten year affair with Richard Littlejohn.

TheTruthHere,

So if you are gay copper you must be a leftie?

Of the gay people I know, I would estimate their political allegances are evenly distributed between lefties and righties. If I had to call it, I would say I know more right leaning gay people, but that is because I tend to mix with righties.
Brian Paddick is Lib-Dem. I suppose that was considered fairly leftish once.
I have always found the righties to not be very tolerant with gay people but if you you have right wing gay friends then i may be wrong.

What next a left wing fascism movement.
