My cooker has died

My cooker died this afternoon (half way through cooking a chicken) but on the plus side I hadn't wasted any time cleaning it (I had bought the stuff, honest, but just couldn't face it) and we had to go out for tea - good result all round!

My sympathy sherrardk, mine almost died last week, it just sort of faded cooler and cooler, and I got away with not cooking or grilling anything for two whole days. Hurrah! but I phoned the Gas Homecare people and the engineer has now resurrected it,...... boo! No excuses now.

Chicken has gone in the bin (friend offered to cook it in her oven but I didnt think it was a good plan).

Hi Alba - eventually got hold of woman at 6ish on Saturday evening, said she need to talk to her husband about paying (!), my husband lost his temper and wrote her a letter asking her which day suited her for him to go round and take the stove and liner out (also adding that if she didn't let him he would be round the following week with a court appointed bailiff). I rang her on the Monday and she coughed up on Tuesday. Man who was supposed to pay cash last Thursday still hasn't coughed up, was supposed to be going to the shop today so husband has gone over to see if the cash is there and if not he is going round his house.

He takes a deposit (to cover the cost of the stove as they can be very expensive and he doesn't want to be lumbered with one that no one else wants if someone cancels). They are just so slow in coughing up the rest. It is infuriating!
