I've always liked him as a player, and despite his vain appearance I now like him as a person.

What a decent bloke, this wasn't about publicity or money. This was him being a good bloke.
Also funny to see that he got more attention than any politican who's preceded him.

I don't mind him at all, it's his wife I can't tolerate...
I like Beckham but I also like his wife........good family with 3 lovely boys. I admire him going to Afghanistan as he'd no need to, and thought his comments regarding the army excellent.

I found it quite amusing when he was signing the guns on the chopper. That's going to end up in a Squadron Bar somewhere :D
Are you sure you want to leave the RAF, Bob? x
Question Author
Not really NoM, but I had two choices. A decent relationship with my kids or the career I loved. The kids won.
Aww x x x

They won't know it yet, but one day they'll realise was a fab father they have.
Question Author
Thank you, but I'm not a fab father. I'm just a Dad who would do anything for the kids I've raised. I should be an example of a normal father, and it boils my blood when there are Dads who just don't care.
I think beckham is a nice guy, this proves it
I must go and visit the troops, I'm desperate to become a nice guy!
Just another photo opportunity for Beckham, he's injured and is not going to the World Cup so he has to keep himself in the spotlight somehow
^ you old cynic JoeLuke!
I was thinking along the same lines as Joe.
He's an overrated footballer who along with his pop tart wife never misses a self-publicity opportunity
I guess the most important thing is did the soldiers in Afghanstan gain anything from the visit ? ...if so then great if it was just a distraction they didn't want then it was a pointless exercise,
^Here he is again............spreading joy and sunshine whether he goes...........

Are you related to 'The Grinch', joeluke ? :o)
Yeah he's my brother lol
*Whether !?!
apologies - wherever
Hi JtH lets not pick on JL today.... He is obviously miserable enough...

I like David Beckham, I think he's a nice lad, if he didn't have a mum and dad I'd adopt him...
I have always liked him since seeing all the funny clips he's done for comic/sport relief. Shows how much of a good sport he is.
I have a great deal of respect for DB.
I know that had my son been out in Afghanistan at the moment, cool as he likes to appear, he'd have been 'schoolboy-thrilled' to have seen and met DB.....
