How did Jesus Christ die on the cross?or did he?
He had nails through both hands and through his ankles, painful, yes, but not enough to kill him.
Could it be that he "didn't " die on the cross, was taken down by his followers, taken back to the cave (sepulchre) where he was seen, as a resurrection by Mary Magdalene?
Any contributions welcomed.

Most depictions have the nails through the hands and the feet. There is also a crown of thorns on the head. A lot of the books also state that his right side was pierced by a spear belonging to a soldier, so that could have punctured a lung.

It was barbaric times he lived in and that was the sort of punishment given, crucifixion! He suffered on the cross and died and his body was taken by his mother for burial, but days later he arose again, so maybe he didn't actually die. could have been in a coma or likewise! Mel Gibsons movie The Passion of the Christ depicts the story very well!
Even if the accounts of the soldier killing him aren't true. Sepsis, dehydration, suffocating, stroke and heart attack are all possibilities in crucifixion death. He died 9 hours after being on the cross (much sooner than normal apparently) and something to do with John seeing fluid running from his side favours was caused by an asyphxiation or cardiac collapse death.
But of course it's still possible in the wake of an earthquake that all the guards bu88ered off and his disciples took the opportunity to get him back to the cave.

That's if he really did die that quickly but if we are taking it all as true apart from the dying on the cross bit would they really have been able to save and treat him back then?. The man was under incredible stress, beaten by the Jewish council, scourged by the romans, caned, beaten a bit more, dragged his own beam, nailed through his wrists and feet, crown of thorns forced upon his head and then held in a position that requires strength just to keep you upm enough to breath. I don't think he would have lasted, even in the cave.
