Any Sympathy For Mr Galloway?

"Respect" MP George Galloway claims to have been sexually abused at the age of 11 by a school janitor.

Given the extremely controversial and, some may say, "reviled" figure that he is, does anyone have sympathy for him? Could that be what made him what he is today?

Or did he "get" what he "deserved"?

Jno Yes actually, they are all valid questions.

And your point is.... what exactly?

By leaping to the conclusion that paraffin's questions represent his beliefs, aren't you being just a tad hysterical?
Jno Do you think it would be fair of me to now 'read between the lines' of your questions and assume that you have a particular interest in paedophiles? Okay, so let's see where this goes... Why are you interested in this group of people? Do you have an affinity with them? Are you secretly one of them?

Etc, etc, etc....... to utter absurdity.

Why not just accept that the original question was asked honestly? It was not a reflection of his views as he has demonstrated.

If we all start making ludicrous assumptions about the beliefs and motives of a person who poses a question then we all might as well just pack up and leave the site.
birdie..have some info for you which I will post tomorrow on a thread....x
Ooh err! That's intriguing!
and what else should Paraffin expect from asking "did he get what he deserved?"

it's about child abuse, not a good telling off.

wakey wakey.
no just going to cut and past a friends response......
Sara A reasonable, measured response that did not include character assassinations perhaps? Or is that too much to ask?
but it's not a reasonable question.

ReallyLegend What is sad is small minded people like yourself who contribute to discussions when you clearly haven't read all the responses. Not many posts ago you were still asking, Still no answer from the poster? when he had replied fully ages ago.

If you're not going to even attempt to keep up then why post?

Tell you what ReallyLegend, let's tar and feather him eh? Yeah, that'll show him. You go round to his house tomorrow and.... oh, what's that? You don't know him personally? Oh okay, I thought you did.

You said ... he has no genuine interest or concern..

How do you know this if you've never met him? I'd be interested to know how you've managed to leap to this conclusion.

Sara There are some people who may think that abuse can be justified with hindsight. It is a reasonable, albeit, uncomfortable question.

People have read it, and assumed that the poster's views correspond with the question.

For example, I'll pose a question. How about, Do you think Hitler was right to kill all those Jews? Can it be justified?

Am I now to assume that everyone thinks that I hold the same views as Hitler? I would seriously hope not and I would be offended if anyone suggests that I do. And that's the point. You may not like the question but that does not make the question unreasonable.

ReallyLegend - He has replied properly to the question. If you missed it AGAIN, this is what he said...

I totally abhor "kiddy fiddlers" and happen to believe that this is one of the offences for which capital punishment should be reintroduced.

Is this not clear enough for you?

Your statement, im not an intellectual is demonstrably correct.
ReallyLegend - Wow! Your last post is.... interesting. Keep taking the tablets.

No, I have to say that Leggy made some good points.
As he said, NO child deserves to be abused, and if what Galloway says is true, then he was only a child himself at the time, so nothing political comes into it.
ReallyLegend All I'm trying to do is explain the legitimacy of the question. If paraffin thinks that people should be executed for child abuse (which he does) why do you think he's advocating the abuse of the young GG?

It's a non sequitur.

We actually all agree with one another!

The only thing we appear to disagree on is the right for someone to ask the question.
Not sure what everyone's getting so hysterical about here. It was an attempt at irony which didn't work.

The clue is in the quotation marks around the word "deserved" in the original question. Only a twit can read into this that paraffin thinks some children deserve to be abused, or that Galloway deserves to be abused.

It's still a weird and pointless question though.
