A 12 yeat old girl goes to the Police and social services to tell them she fears being sent to Pakistan and forcibly married. They do NOTHING. And she is raped by her new husband and I am deeply ashamed of England.

Ashamed - But this one was not even married to the girl, and I am sure still is doing it somewhere or will be doing it as sentence here is almost nil. And was a teacher and Yes had a sex with 9 year old girl. And guess what? he is not even Pakistani. Shame isn't it?

what the hell are you ashamed of england for.surely this was a cultural issue.the only people who should be ashamed of themselbes are the parents of this girl.and anyway dont beliebe eberything you read.
This is indeed very sad and I feel for this girl.
And by the way, by giving the above link I am not saying that it is OK for people to force their kids into marriage. But just trying to say that bad things are happening ever where and we should not single out a specific community or People.
I read this story too. I think the greater shame should be burdened by the parents who cooked up this arrangement. Where is the animal of a father now? Safe? In England? Free as a bird?

If the case is true, I hope to God it's investigated and the world comes crashing down on the repellant pair of toads. Drag that father, so keen to arrange the daily rape of his child, kicking and screaming into a prison where he suffers the same fate.
Strong words but God that system makes me so angry. For all the anti-paedo campaigning that goes on this country (admirable though that is) this offshoot of the crime recieves too little attention and action.
was she born in the UK? I feel for her, but if she is not a UK citizen how is this our problem?
Stay away from Wales, it's full of perverts and bent policemen.
this is not an englishness problem and so you do not need to be ashamed of England.....just those people who allowed this situation to happen.

Like the Police and Social Services ? And to those who say ''Was she British or born here. '' What sort of a person are you ? A 12 year old girl asks for help and you want to know where she was born ? Xtian are you ?
This is the flip-side of the police, social svs, government etc. not wanting to get involved in cultural 'problems' Its a potential banana skin where you can't do right for doing wrong. Very good for letting various sectors of the community doing damn well what they please but not much help for victims of abuse. The perpertrators no doubt shielded by the community and not wanting police involvement.

I'm pretty much with you on this Brionon (I have'nt come across this story though) I'm not ashamed to be English as a result.
I'm ashamed of the limp wristed wishy washy liberals who formulate policies that allow such tragedies to happen in the name of "culture" such churlish notions allowed the death of Victoria Climbie to happen.
At the end of it all the same talking heads will appear from Social Services et al and tell us earnestly that they've undertaken a review (no-one's to blame) and practices have been implemented to prevent a repeat.....
brionon "what sort of person are you"??? Do you think if your 12 year old daughter lived in pakistan and complained to someone about her fear that they would do anything? No I dont think they would. So I reiterate my answer, not british...NOT OUR PROBLEM

How about all the british mums born and bred here with british families who complain of the same thing? Do they get treated any different? Do they get prioriry? No, non-british people seem to get treated quicker and obtain more benefits than someone who has paid their taxes all their life. Charity starts at home. Lets sort our our own probs before sorting others

12:12 brionon "what sort of person are you"??? Do you think if your 12 year old daughter lived in pakistan and complained to someone about her fear that they would do anything? No I dont think they would.

So because thay are Heartless it's an excuse for you to be ?
Some logic ! I ask again-''Xtian are you ?'
spaced.

She is British, isn't she? I thought that was the whole point - she doesn't want to be sent to Pakistan and she's a Brit.

Or am I being thick?

SP184 - that is why I asked brionon if she was British, so tha I could repsond correctly, but I was not given a repsonse.

Brionon, what has being a Christian got to do with this? Religion means nothing here.

My religion has no relevancve, but that doenst mean im not allowed to have my own views.

Isnt this a discussion? There are no right or wrong answers. If she is british then yes this country has a duty of care to protect her, but it does not surprise me in the least that she ws not helped.
Spaced - Do we have duty to protect every one who is British right or wrong. Why did we not fight for the people who were retained in Guantanamo for no reason only to be released after few years. Or we ignored them because in that case the other party were Americans who are our alies or perhaps more stronger power on papers.

Spaced I ask your religion because I've noticed that Muslims and christians write the most hateful comments. by the way 'Are you a christian ?'
We are stuck in the middle of Tony's multicultural experiment that has gone drastically wrong.

I beleive if brithish (regardless of skin colour) you shoudl fight for British values and not be forced toaccept other culture above our own. Prosecute to the full force of the law which is there if we choose to use it.

I can imagine the outcry if a white man from London or Brimingham did the same so why do we all pussy foot around? I'll tell you whjy, becuase His Tonyness and all his crionies like McBottle screamed racist everytime some level minded person raised any such topic. They are to blame together with all those that voted them in.
my comments wernt hateful, just honest. Im not muslim trust me. Im just fed up with this country treating its own people badly and treating the people not supposed to be here better.
