Have been watching 'Forensic files' on UKTV People and guys have been sentenced to up to 399 years !! (OK they might get parole after 200 lol). Is it time that our justice system caught up with them? Since when does 'life' mean 15 years? Our justice system means NOTHING to the victims. Sorry, been drinking and I hope this post makes sense.

There are indeed many convicted criminals that should have received more appropriate tarriffs than they seem to have. 'Life'? They must be quaking in their boots.
Someone who receives a life sentance and is subsequently released from jail, is released on license. This means that they can be put back in jail at any time for the rest of their life - and they don't have re-offended, simply breached the terms of their license. It could be for very minor matters. Happens more frequently than people realise.
If they weren't released, they wouldnt be free to re-offend or breach their license.
Yes thats true - I was just explaining what a life sentence was, not defending them.
