New leader but who cares who leads the Lib dems? Will they ever gain power?

I very much doubt it in the foreseeable future. Particularly with the shambles that has just preceded the leader election. There was a time where I fleetingly considered voting for them, but I put that down to a dodgy prawn....

If Tony ever steps aside can you imagine Ming the Merciless up against Flash Gordon?
Ming does support the impeachment of Blair over Iraq so if he gets all the Lib MP's on his side you never know................unlikey I know, but I live in hope.

They already have power in a lot of councils up and down the country.


Seems as if people are happy to vote lib dem in local elections but not nationally.


If they couldn't make the transition to national government last time round with Michael Howard and Tony Blair as the opposition it's difficult to see how they ever can.


It was as close to a free shot at goal as I can imagine in politics!
