Good evening, all!

A less than impressive start for me this week, with just TWO out of seven in the main quiz 😣
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-67946687

It's probably one of the easier weeks in the kids' quiz but I could still only manage a score of THREE out of five:

Good Evening😊  2024 doesn't get any better 2/7 and 3/5 equalling yours Buenchico.

Evening Chris.

2/5

Think I know where I went wrong  !!

Hope this finds you well  ; ))

I scored 3 out of 7 in the main quiz. Are the questions getting harder, or am I getting older?

A better start to the year than I expected, buen.. 4/7 and 3/5.

Those cicadas sound alarming!

I knew the Space ones and erm... Spice girls, my head back in the sand...

Main: 3/7
Jnr: 3/5

Thanks for allowing me to beat you, Kwillmott πŸ˜‰

. . . and Sam too, I see!
(I'm "as well as can be expected", thank you, as I hope that you are too!)

We're a perfect match, Moorea7! Will  you marry me? πŸ˜„

>>> "Are the questions getting harder, or am I getting older? "

The questions are getting harder because you're getting older, Bookbinder πŸ˜Š

You're in the lead, Jourdain2!  Well done!

Better than me, anyway, Arky!

Whee!  I'll bask in that until Lie-in-King posts.  :)

4/7, 3/5.Since when has a spider been an insect? Puss Puss and Bailey hoping the weather gets warmer. Hope all is good with you and yours

2/7 v 1/7 ....can't even blame it on the footie

3/5 v 4/5

5/12 v 5/12  Think we must still be recovering from Holiday

excesses.

Hope you and your crew are keeping warm, Shady certainly is!

Well done, Campbellking! Joint leader with Jourdain2!

Arachnids are, in my opinion, simply insects with a spare pair of legs πŸ˜Š

My lot aren't moving far from my bedroom, as it's the only room in the house that I heat.  However they all seem well enough, as I hope that Puss Puss, Bailey and yourself all are too.  (I seem to be battling along quite well too!).

Welcome to the Fabulous Five Club, Haras2!

I'm spending far more money than I can afford on heating my bedroom (where the cats and I are based) but it's wrth it to know that they're all happy.  I hope that you and Shady can stay warm and cosy during the new round of cold weather that's apparently on its way next week. β„ β˜ƒ

Good Evening, Chris!

My scores tonight are

4/7, 4/5

I didn't realise it had gotten so late! I have been trawling through hundreds of old photos in preparation for my Dad's 80th birthday which is in a few weeks time. The time has flown but it has been a lovely evening recalling such wonderful memories. I am making photo banners and photo flags for the cake, so will be kept busy for a while.

Wishing you, Chequers, Moonbeam and Tablo a wonderful week ahead :-)

Good evening, Karamia!

You're out on your own in the lead!  Well done!

I've been looking for an 80th birthday card for a friend today.  (His birthday's not until the 30th but it'll need to get through the Italian postal system, which manages to make our own one look super-efficient by comparison!).  If i can't find one soon though, I suppose that I could always ask him to re-use the 80th birthday card that I sent to him in error last year πŸ˜„

I hope that your preparations for your dad's big day will go well.

The Troublesome Trio and I all wish you well for the week ahead.  Stay warm!

Wow, I could  hardly believe the way the questions were falling in my favour tonight, resulting in 5 out of 7 and 4 out of 5.

I must buy a lottery ticket πŸ˜€    πŸ˜€    πŸ˜€

Question Author

Well, Karamia's turn out in the lead didn't last long, did it?

Well done with those impressive scores, Canary42!

It's too late to buy a lottery ticket for this prize though ;-)

I got my 80th cards from Card factory online who are doing a 3 for 2 offer on personalised cards, so my mum made hers using a photo and I made a dad and then a grandad photo card. They worked out at £2.20 each instead of £3.55!!

Maybe you could make one for your friend.

Question Author

I make lots of birthday and Chrstmas cards myself anyway, Karamia.  I just need a bit of inspiration for something a bit different!

For example, this is the card that I sent to my Italian friend, Boby, in 2020 during lockdown when Partygate was starting to hit the headlines:

Sorry I stole your limelight Karamia, I'm usually the Dunce.

A decent enough 4/7 in the main quiz

And 3/5 for the kids quiz.

As an aside, wonder how many went for the most obvious answer to Q1 Kid's quiz?

If i'd read Arky's post prior to doing the quizzes i'd have had another pointπŸ€”
