Even the staff... Nurses and doctors have to pay.

Hi Gullz  - happy new year - keep jerking AB around

They  didnt ( make a profit) - car parking probably at Tory govt order was sold onto to car parking firms for a lump sum ( capital not revenue)

and THEY can make such profit unhindered as they want. so the car park attendants  are difft to hospital porters

Carparking fines and charges go in at least two different colours ( pay and no pay) and there is quite a lot here on AB on whether you have to pay them or not

if the car parking company belong to PAYOLA then you do ( short story) I think

and if it doesnt, you dont ( I think)

anyway pay or not, none of it goes into the NHS and hasnt for at least ten years.

to END it

as as it is a contract - you have to pay off the buyer of the franchise, his reasonable expected income for the rest of the contract

( straight forward contract law, and you cant go against  it wivva a primary act of parliament - because as a judge commmented - "you are  saying a contract isnt a contract" and that will not do at all. - would count as expropriation which only African dictators do )

Oh and rather start a new thread ( golly I hope a mod isnt reading! - phew)

another Great Advantage of Brexit has bitten the dust

to wit ( pun intended)- Boris' Great Return to roots - pounds and ounces - no can do

Rishi has abandoned it and buried it un noticed during this hooliday

oh Gawd - there is already a whole thread on it. Keep up me auld chyne - Lardy

The main theme was that you could already do so ( what?).

Evellyn Waugh recalls receiving news (1920s) of his awful degree ( III) whilst drinking champagne from a pint  glass. First novel Decline and Fall and never looked back

Isn't it the hospitals who've trousered the money?

Question Author

A Tory spokeman said..."The Cons have fulfilled their manifesto pledge to end unfair hospital parking charges". How thick do these Tories think the public are ? the previous year the yield was £96 million this next year was £146 million. Eh !Perhaps the Tories are so thick they can't count...Unbelievable. lol

"Isn't it the hospitals who've trousered the money?"

oh no, dont spoil his xmas fun..he hates facts

Whatever the ins and outs, rights and wrongs, the fact is that the motorist is going to bear the brunt of raising money in this country. Previously, the Chancellor could rely on beer and tobacco to raise the dosh, but there aren't as many smokers now, so it's the motorist who's gonna cop it instead!

Whether it's Labour or Tory, btw.
