Perhaps his constituents are best served with him in the BB House. I have no solid opinion either way.

Likewise, many other constituents are not fully (or properly?) represented by MPs holding High Office e.g. Speaker of the House, Prime Minister, Secretaries of State etc.
It wouldn't be the first time Georgie boy has bunked off from parliamentary business to earn a few bob so it is only to be expected really.

Watch out people he has a bit of a fan club you know.

God knows why.

Anything for money, our Geogie boy.
Just keep an eye on the swimming pool....
Why do you assume that George Galloway's staff do not look after his 'affairs' whilst Tony Blair's, Michael Martin's, etc. do?

When people descibe George as a 'slippery customer', I think what they are really saying is that despite members of the 'establishment', moving heaven and earth to shut him up, he still finds a way to hold the government to account for its actions.

In spite of the absence of any meaningful political opposition from the two other parties, he has remained a thorn in the side of the Labour Party and in particular Tony Blair.

Lets keep in mind that Tony changed the boundaries of his Glaswegian constituency simply to get him out of political office, and failing that any number of politically motivated smear campaigns has been launched to libel and slander him, everyone successfully refuted at great personal cost.
Oh yes, and despite only ever meeting Sadam on two occasions, Ive heard him described as his pal by various news media on at least four different occasions today alone.
And for all the would-be Senator Colemans out there, he was campaigning against the tyranny in Iraq while the governments of both the USA and (sadly) the UK were busy installing him into power and supplying him with weapons and expertise.

Still you cant beat the system, if they carry on telling enough lies about someone; eventually enough people (without the ability to think or check the facts for themselves) will believe it.

Only one word for your comment OBonio - SICK.

That had nothing to do with GG and you obviously have no consideration for the family and victim concerned

I actually wondered whio who would be the first sicko to bring this up against MB.Certainly not another contestant who will if this gets back -(doubt it ) would sue you and AB for all you were worth.

I posted my opinion at the same time as Stevie.I was not influnenced in any way
Sorry for typo - fingers too quick.

Nice one, stevie, though not a great fan of George, I have a lot of respect (absolutely no pun intended) for him after his performance against the US Senate inquiry ('ink-wurry')

Not a BB fan, but I'm sure that he will be slagged off relentlessly, whether Parliament is in recess or not - "he should still be serving his constituents" will be the common call.

Still, to paraphrase an old classic; "Who needs lobotomy when you've got the ol' TV"?

"Big Brother ain't watching you, mate, you're f -ing watching him" - Crass, 1982

I can think of only one thing GG's half good at and thats holding Tony to account. You may also love him for saying No War and Leave Iraq, but that don't make him a effective MP. Any muppet can keep saying those things publicly whether you belive them or not. George's interests remain resolutely focused on one thing, himself!

Three words i'll remember each time he claims to be the politican of the people and humanitarian 'Cash for Oil'

He's been there, got the tee shirt, mountains of evidence and he knows it! I agree stunning performance in the Senate but his future totally depended on it, don'y forget that's his one true skill performing to a crowd. Keep smoking the Coheba and drinking the champers my socialist friend makes you look dead genuine!

Ah Mash, my shining example of deluded fabrication masquerading as fact.
Cash for oil you say? The only people who have been proven to be in Iraq for oil are the Americans and ourselves (for the scraps), if the west really gave a toss about the Kurds, Marsh Arabs, and political dissidents who were oppressed under Sadam we would have ousted him years ago when lives could have been saved.
Just for the record GG doesnt drink Champagne, I love it, however, but hes tee-total (But, hey, why let the facts/truth get in the way?).
Oh yes, its Cohiba Cigars not Coheba, but have a B- for effort. For reference they come from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba and are the finest available (you cant say the man doesnt have class).
On a more serious note however, while ever there are people out there like yourself, that are so easily manipulated into believing any old nonsense (dangerous nonsense when its used to stifle political debate and legitimate questioning and criticism), then I fear well all end up as muppets, dancing to the puppeteers tune.

Re Stevie 2Cit's comments that Tony changed the boundaries to get rid of George Galloway's seat in Scotland - this is not true!

It was the Boundary Commission, not the government that took the decision to change the boundaries. Why? Because when they established the Scottish Parliament, it was agreed that the number of Scottish MPs at Westminister should be reduced.

I still think GG is a crook and I reckon that the US have some info on all the freebie oil he got from his pal Saddam. I'm just counting the days until someone takes GG to the cleaners - and then off to jail.

Steb, although you are correct in your statement that GG lost his seat through action taken by the boundaries commission, it is important to note that of the other twelve MPs who lost seats due to the shake up, only George was singled out for discrimination by TB and the Labour Party. The others were either: scheduled for retirement anyhow, given alternative seats, or paid off and bribed with hefty pensions and/or life peerages.

By this time anyhow, Tony Blair had arranged the expulsion of GG from the Labour party over his direct criticism of the lies told over the Iraq war (and a variety of other trumped up issues all successfully rebutted).
The finishing stroke, to Galloways political career (or so TB thought), was to put up a Muslim candidate to stand in the new Glasgow seat (Mohammad Sarwar the first Muslim MP and critic of the war), knowing that GG would be unlikely to stand against him.

In finishing, Id like to say that it might well be the case that at some point in the future there may come to light genuine evidence that proves that Galloway is a crook and a liar; however until that time comes, Im curious that so many people wish to collude in trying to silence and discredit him.

What have they to fear, surely asking questions of political leaders and hearing others views (even if you disagree with them) it what makes us a democracy instead of a dictatorship?

What I find particularly disturbing however, is when you look into who, and where these smears and allegations are coming from. Made by people who themselves are proven to have told much bigger and far more serious lies.

How long will they get locked up for?

george's fee is going to charity, as is his share of the phone vote money.
