Tell the people of Newry and Newcastle her in Northern Ireland that its only a 'bit of nasty weather'

I'm not a fan of Littlejohn (at all) but where he writes 'I'm in no way trying to diminish the misery Storm Ciaran has caused to many people across the country, who have suffered their homes and businesses being flooded out. But the reaction has been off the charts' I have to agree.

Yes, he is right.  The weathermen delight in giving warnings out. And some people like to stir things up, like some of the young spouting doom mongering nonsense and blocking roads who are so delusional.

It was supposed to hit hard right across the South Coast.

Well, I live just over 1/2 mile from the sea and it was a bit wet and max wind under 30mph.

It was a localised problem clearly and to boot Norther France was the main place to bear the brunt.

The big problem with this is that it is clasic "Boy who cried wolf"

It was dreadful yesterday - my train to London was delayed by a full 10 minutes. I was distraught.

Better service than normal then DD 😁

Shocking - train only 20 minutes late - that's terrible. Let's hope the usual 40 minutes returns once the weather settles.

It was a struggle to get to the pub at lunch time but we are made of stern stuff down here on the south coast.

"Goodness knows how modern media would handle the 1703 storm. Millennials would go into meltdown without electricity and a decent 5G signal. If they looked up the Eddystone Lighthouse, they'd probably think it was the group which had a hit with Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes), written by Tony Macauley and the late, great Barry Mason." - classic!

ymb I am a bit further along the coast in B&H and we had it worse than you. Copied this out of The Argus.

//Storm Ciarán left a trail of disruption and destruction after gusts of up to 62mph battered parts of the county yesterday.

Roads were left impassable by fallen trees, flooding and fallen power cables, with around 2,000 homes across the county left without electricity.\\

On  the Tv last night saw some bad stuff happening in Plymouth storm yesterday. I do hope Pasta has a roof over her head.
