im not sure - possibly bease their leader is a twitdick, or they wanted the territory?  I sometimes find it difficult to discern what point you are trying to make because i can't get to x, so have no idea to what your link refers

As I undersand it, President Putin regards any territory he sees as being 'Russian' as being anexable, and that was his purpose in invading Ukraine.

I am unsure what the point of your video clip is, in relation to your question.

Roy's point is, I think, that Putin claimed Ukraine is under the control of antisemitic neo-Nazis, with Ukrainian citizens therefore needing to be 'liberated' from such control by Russia.  Roy appears to be pointing out that antisemitism is actually alive and well within Russia, even if not in Ukraine:

Thanks for the explanation, it makes more sense now.

Bednobs - This is what Roy's link says (and shows) //Insane footage on Russian social media from Makhachkala in the North Caucasus region, where there have been several anti-Semitic protests this weekend. A crowd of people, some with Palestinian flags, broke into the airport in search of passengers on a flight from Tel Aviv.\\

It may be what the link shows, although that's not evident unless you know the background - and Roy's question does not explain it at all.

Any attempted justification Putin might have given for invading Ukraine was obvious blluhist from the start. The use of the word nazi was chosen for the propaganda as something that still resonates with the Russian people.

Where have you been mr hughes?

Putin tells us that neo nazis took over Kyiv and a bit like hamas kept Ukrainians hostage.

I just assumed news-posters woukld be aware of that.

Anyway, do you think (as in the past) this Jew hunting will catch on?

Question Author

Putin didn't mention hamas, obviously.

Easy there roy, you'll find yourself deleted.

Putin thought it would be a walk in the park, which it would have been except for the support from the West.

Question Author

So you think Putin thought the west wouldn't support Ukraine?

If you like news as it happends I would say get yourself a twitter/X account.

Not to the level they have; to date the USA alone have given nearly $44 billion worth of support, which is about to include F-16 fighter aircraft.

See the link below for further details of the US support.

Question Author

So you are telling me Putin thought the west would support Ukraine just a little bit?

Yup.

If Putin had been able to see that list of support equipment (which includes 400 million rounds of small arms ammunition), he would have paused for thought.

Omid Djalili on X:

"This is absolutely terrifying. News of a plane landing in Russia from Israel sparked a Jew hating mob. This is exactly what Hamas and the Islamic regime in Iran wanted to happen all over the world as a result of October 7th. This cannot be happening in 2023 - yet it is.

Link not working again but that should suit bednobs.

He's absolutely right isn't he?
