A leaked memo from the "Home Office" suggests Richi Sunaks Govt anticipates the migrant crisis will continue for around half a decade . With emergency accomodation plans being put in place for at least the next five years and is expecting tens of thousand of immigrants in this period. The Tories are planning new accomodation sites at Essex, Linconshire and East Sussex It's costing the taxpayer £6 million a day now to keep the ones that have landed, God only knows what it will be costing,
....5 years from now.

I have said before, but it bears repeating - why is the government not providing the staff and resources to clear the assylum seekers backlog, get thm processed, and either get them settled and working, or gone. How hard can it be? Now if i can figure that out, the planet-sized brains at Whitehall can as well, so I would be interested to know what is stopping them?...

//They are the first to get live on a *** barge :-)//

Considering they rocked up on our beaches uninvited, who are they to complain. Do you think they have the right to pick and choose their accommodation, particularly at our expense ?
Quite right, retro.

The government have no intention of stopping the migrants or sending them home..they are our future cheap labour reserve.

That is because my post was removed. I would like the over zealous mod to explain why. There was absolutely nothing contentious in what I wrote and a moderator agreed with what I had written.
Possibly inappropriate language, or repeating inappropriate language - I did see the posts in question.
There was no inappropriate language bad or otherwise in my post.
If you did see the posts in question then perhaps from the eyes of a moderator you can explain what I wrote was worthy of removal?
Two mods saw it and left it there so perhaps whoever removed it misread it. Email the Ed, Retro.
Retrocop - I am not going to get into a discussion about moderation - they only end badly.

If you are unhappy about the removal of a post, I suggest you contact the Editor.

I have in the past. They don't even give the courtesy of acknowledgement let alone deal with it or explain.
That's all I can suggest, retro. No one else can do anything about it.
Thanks naomi24
I know you are trying to help especially as you saw what I wrote and replied to it. It just sticks in the craw and makes people wonder 'why bother joining these threads'
You don't qualify under the double standards rules retro.
I wonder how many experienced admin staff are currently out OF work and claiming benefits, if offered they might be happy to take on this task on a short term contract basis. Temporary centres in large cities, clear the backlog with a corresponding reduction in benefit claimants, and keep on the best staff to bolster existing teams,
There would also potentially be a number over retirement age who wouldn't mind say 6 months work.
Probably not do able but it's another way of looking at the argument about costing.

Naomi 09.09 "Two mods saw it and left it there"
Does that mean another mod and yourself or two other mods ?
The reason I am asking is because I thought you mods didn't know who each other were! ..and only the Ed knew the identity of each mod....
Gulliver, if you read the posts you will know who the two mods mentioned are. I saw it and andy-hughes saw it. We're both named mods.
Gulliver - Noami is a 'named' Mod, as am I, so that is who she is referring to.
Cross posts, but the same response.
Hopefully, we can get back to the topic at hand now that the answers have been amended.
