What are his chances of impressing the electorate? Slim, I'd say.

Slim to none. I'd say it's a ploy by Labour to encourage the libdem vote in a seat they've got no chance of winning anyway.
Let's put our own Member for Czech Castles up for this and see if he can actually win something...
Perish the thought that anyone would care about the planet's future.
Few people do Geoffrey. We're all mostly concerned about what's happening in our own lifetime. That has been the problem since the start of the industrial revolution.
Greenpeace are a well respected green campaigning group. Since when as trying to save the planet from destruction been seen as an extremist view?
It's not what they stand for, it's about how they go about it - just short of Just-Stop-Oil and, often, so misinformed - wit the Brent Spar.
It’s a LibDem target seat
The constituency has returned a Tory MP for almost 100 years, and Dorries has a massive majority.

The "by-election results are meaningless" argument notwithstanding, if another party takes this seat from the Tories, that will be very meaningful.
// the group stormed Rishi Sunak’s home, causing outrage //

I detected no outrage. It was quite a boring stunt, but harmless. Not heard of any blue rinses croaking it at the news.
The fact that a Labour candidate supports Greenpeace is hardly an hanging offence. I doubt it will do him much harm in the constituency, but obviously he won’t, he never was going to.
Soon as I hear the word activist, that puts me off for good.
The French know how to give Green peace a sinking feeling.

Bunch of lefty do-gooders, nothing at all to do with 'saving the planet' which is mostly garbage anyway.

I think the Greens have lost Brighton & Hove council and I suspect that may indicate a trend away from support for the eco charge, not simply because people are sick to the back teeth of the warriors waging war on the unsuspecting, and self-righteous celebrities preaching between flights across continents in private planes, but because it's clear that green policies are going to hit pockets hard - even those pockets that can ill afford it. Green is fine but people still have to live. Quoting targets for years ahead doesn't help 2023.

Gromit, //I detected no outrage. // There's a varying reaction of considerable concern - as there should be. Two MPs have been murdered in recent years. The Prime Minister's home should be protected. No one should be taking that stunt lightly.
