naomi - that wasn't satire or comedy.
"Anyone who thinks he was right to write that piece is out of their tiny minds!"

That's me then.

Had he tempered his hyperbolic style a bit, I doubt there'd be as much mouth-frothing and pearl-clutching, but had he done so, it wouldn't have been a typical JC column.
bhg, it made me laugh, but then I'm not precious and I took it in the spirit intended.
Bet he had his fingers crossed behind his back when he apologised :-)
Jimmy Kimmel should watch out for anything to do with chessmen in the post.

I dont mind Jeremy Clarkson.
But I wish he’d put his talents to better use
No.
I'v got to admit to a bias against Jeremy Clarkson; I class him as the man who wrecked Top Gear which, until he took control, was a serious motoring programme iving useful advice on driving and new cars He turned it into his version of a comedy programme.
I used to dislike Clarkson but I do think he is a good presenter of Who ...Millionaire, far better than Tarrant
"I class him as the man who wrecked Top Gear"

Exactly! I used to watch it with dear old Raymond Baxter.
But then I'm a dull git :-)

Anyone that has a different opinion is always treated like this by you I notice.
For me he improved Top Gear.

He turned it from a dry half hour programme talking about a Nissan Sunny’s brakes, into an entertainment programme revolving around cars.

It was a global success story earning the BBC enormous amounts of money.
They……… the royals, just keep on giving .
No , he meant what he said in the first place

The apology is hollow words , due to the backlash and the possible drop of folding in his bank account .

If he had said what he said about other prominent people , most folk on here would disagree .

It seems it's ok , because it was directed to M&H

I'm pretty sure he didn't mean that :1)
I agree with all on here that say JC should've just said that it was 'his truth', if its good enough for ginge and whinge its good enough for JC.
Too right stpeter.
Love that JC can laugh at himself unlike ginge and whinge.
//Exactly! I used to watch it with dear old Raymond Baxter.//

I don't think Raymond Baxter presented Top Gear, Ikky. Looking it up, it seems the first episodes were presented by Angela Rippon and Tom Coyne. You're not getting confused with "Tomorrow's World" perhaps?
No he shouldn't have apologised and if Meghan was white the outrage would be reduced in fervour by about 90%.
I thought he did for a while. That's odd. He doesn't seem to have done
Memory plays tricks alright.
