What is it about football that prompts this disgusting behaviour? I can't think of any other sport that has a similar effect.

Because they’re overpaid Divas now Naomi
no the divas arent rioting, too buusy adjusting their perms

cricket ( we have had the football war) - didnt riot stopped play occur in Pakistan?
Question Author
^That's already been mentioned.
Naomi - because football is proud of it's label as 'the working man's game' however archaic and redundant that notional be now.
maybe it's merely because football is more popular than other sports. Therefore if i in a thousand people have the tendency to riot, a sport that has a following of 1000 people will only attract 1 weirdo. A sport with millions of supporters will attract more nutters. Football is the national sport of both belgium and morrocco
Bednobs has posted more or less what I was about to: football is simply the world's most followed game. It attracts a mass following in lots of countries. In fact, as cricket does in India and Pakistan, which has already been mentioned
Question Author
I think that far more likely than all the pseudo psycho-babble, bednobs. I also think there's a tendency for the less well-educated and less cultured to follow football rather than say, cricket or rugby. I'll probably get hung out to dry for that - but that's what I think.
When you refer to 'pseudo psycho babble', are you referring to my perfectly logical basic common sense analysis of what makes a hooligan?

If so, I think you are overreacting somewhat.
Question Author
AH, Yes I am - and I don't mind what you think.
That makes us equal then.

You get the answers you get, not just the ones you agree with, but also the ones you sniffing dismiss with your unmerited schoolmarm sense of superiority.

Never mind, others may supply responses better suited to your preconceptions. But if you don't want to exchange rationally without being offensive, don't ask questions in the first place.

And speaking of offensive … re-read what you’ve just written. AH.

Thank you for your thoughts on the subject.

AH, you’re upset because I don’t set much store upon the deliberations of amateur psychologists such as yourself - or, as a matter of fact, upon the those of professionals. Psycho babble all - in my opinion. Don’t take it to heart. You weren’t specially selected.

Thanks LB.

AH, you post as you wish - insults and all. We know.
Naomi, please don't flatter yourself, I am not remotely bothered by your opinion of me, or my posts, as I said, on that footing, as well as being ruder than we should as mature adults, we are equal.
Does your question not invite "amateur psychologists" to put their view forward? If not, then why ask?
"What is it about football that prompts this disgusting behaviour?"
Question Author
Yeoma, anyone may offer a view but I’m not obliged to agree with it.
I am a aware of that Naomi, just pointed out what I saw as a contradiction in your posts. No worries.
Yeoma, speaking personally, I no issue at all with anyone disagreeing with my view, that is how debate works.

However if someone is personally rude about me, then I will take issue, because that is notbin the spirit of exchanging opinions and knowledge.

I agree, if you ask a question, it is polite not to be offensive to people who take the time and trouble to respond.
