From the Met police I have:

How many stop and searches were done in 2012 and what was the success rate back then (ie. action taken)?

Also - it’s important to know whether figures for S&S are substantially higher or lower than they were 10 years ago. If the move to restrict searches was abandoned then the figures from a decade ago are moot surely?

Are you saying that a 1 in 4 chance of something working out (eg 1 in 4 S&Ss result in further action) is not a good rate?

If you went to your doctor who prescribed medication that only had a one in four chance of working, you may think “Those odds are rubbish”.

I tend to agree - if the proportion was a decently high number that’d be thing, but a 25% ‘hit rate’ is very poor.
