Tosh.
JC speaks a lot of truth. Unfortunately his white middle class standing and his age count against him in these snowflake times.
Sounds like he’s trying to start a fight in an empty room.
tongue in cheek in part I do think....
It's a good point. Replacing half the team with persons who identify themselves as women would not only make for further success in the future, it would almost ensure BBC coverage too.
Too many blondes ? How does he know that the collars and cuffs match ?
just another has been who's thought up something controversial just to get himself in the limelight again.
He needs to look at the England Commonwealth Team ,all the runners are black, very few blondes in the athletics
The fact that the BBC are screening the Commonwealth Games actually supports his theory.
Bit late. The aBBC bemoaned the lack of diversity in the team weeks ago.
If there were more black members then 'The Lionesses' would be condemned as racist, shurely.

Anyway, no amount of force-feeding gals playing kick-ball is going to work on the general public now that the fuss has died down.

he's not poking the BBC, who can control the people who appear in BBC-made programmes but not who appears in football teams.

But are they all blondes? Some of them look a little tinted to me.
You can’t say that, jno! It’s ‘person of colour’ or black.
they might just be suntanned, ZM, I need to be cautious here. After all, Cleese obviously didn't see them.
;-)
Surely they just select the best players regardless of colour etc?
Just because he's old does not make John Cleese a has been whose opinions must be tinged with dementia. Why is that kind of discrimination still OK? For the record his remark is both amusing and astute.
Why can't these "celebs" realise when they're past their use-by date and just shut up.
Right back at ya, Canary. x
Prudie, if your answer is directed at me, I didn't mention Dementia. I suggested he, like so many in the public eye, has to say or do something just to be mentioned again by the media.
