N/J @ 13.44 "The benefit is that we are no longer members of The European Union thats all I wanted"
........What a Juvenile reply N/J .

//I’m still waiting to see the benefits of if there we were promised.//

/As I keep saying, the benefit is that we are no longer members of the European Union. That’s all I wanted and all I expected. Anything else is incidental./

So in reality it actually DOES boil down to us having a blue passport(which looks black every time I see it) and the square root of f*** all else! Lol.
Don't forget the Dartford tunnel benefit.
@12.19.I also voted remain. Most of my SNP voting colleagues voted for Brexit. They said it was a double-edged sword. If Brexit went through then the SNP said it was a perfect excuse for IndyRef2.Doesnt seem to have worked.
//Simply not being a member seems to be becoming an expensive 'nice to have'.//

Not "nice to have", Zacs. An absolutely essential priority for me for the last thirty years. The pros and cons of Brexit (of which there are many of both) are immaterial. Except, of course, light bulbs :-)
anne: "I asked a brexiteer how they had benefited from leaving Europe.
A blue passport was the reply. :-) " - that was not a brexiteer.
> As I keep saying, the benefit is that we are no longer members of the European Union. That’s all I wanted and all I expected.

Yes, you do keep saying that and it is a position that I respect. You voted purely on not wanting to be part of a larger political union.

Many other Leave voters did not vote on the same basis. They were fed lies (such as the Turkey lie that Penny Mordaunt repeated recently), they were led to believe that they would somehow be better off financially, and that day-to-day life would be somehow better, such as with a much-improved NHS.

Just recently, the liar-in-chief has lost his job for - guess what - lying!

Now, I appreciate that for you, NJ, the fact that the voters were lied to, the fact that many who hoped to be better off are no better off, the fact that the NHS isn't improved, makes no difference whatsoever ... you got what you wanted. But many who voted the same way as you didn't get what they wanted, to the extent that they now wish they hadn't voted that way.

That's not saying that they, or most Remainers, would like to take us back in. But let's not sweep under the carpet the fact that we were lied to, and it's costing people. News reports that tell us truly what that liar-led vote is costing people do no harm at all.
//So in reality it actually DOES boil down to us having a blue passport(which looks black every time I see it)//

No it doesn't. I don't care what colour my passport is. What's important is that it does not have, printed on its cover (before the words "United Kingdom") the words "European Union". The European Union does not issue passports and why its title should head the covers before the names of the nations that do demonstrates its delusions of grandeur.

It is no use Remainers trying to understand my point of view any more than it is for me to try and understand theirs. It was all done to death during the run up to the referendum and in the disgraceful episodes which followed. It's done and we must all live with it.
I can just imagine N/J Standing on a street corner sat mornings with a tray strapped around his neck selling flags to pin to your jacket saying .
"I am no longer a member of the EU "
still a 5C sour grape fest I see, you lost get over it. Gutless rissoles like you would not understand the true benefits anyway.
There was no divorce. One should pay what was legally committed to and benefit from that which was also committed to. Any sudden recent additional claims seem unlikely to be justifiable and should be refused.

Then more fool them. As I also often say, I believe that all politicians lie, some more than others, and voters should cast their votes with that firmly in mind. On the odd occasion they may encounter a politician caught telling the truth (especially if it involves them being told they will be better off) they can be pleasantly surprised. No voter at any election or referendum should cast his or her vote based on what politicians promise them and it’s scarcely my fault if they are so gullible.
> Then more fool them

Yes, they were fools. Hopefully they will learn the lesson, backed up by news reports that tell them exactly what their foolishness has cost them, especially if they were voting to be financially better off.

> it’s scarcely my fault if they are so gullible

Yes, I agree, I don't blame you at all!

C’mon then genius, point them out to us thus far?
Truth is we were all lied to, every single one of us, red and blue alike, even hardened Brexiteers admit it.
We fell for the promises and assertions and what’s happened?
Utter chaos and lies, that’s it!

Bar a passport minus the words European Union, what other ‘benefits’ have we been furnished with?

Anneasquith at 1.08pm.

You’re lying.

Nobody would say that. I get why you’ve lied, as it supports your opinion, but a lie nonetheless.

I voted remain.
Lol, so no list at all then? Zero, zilch, Nada! PMSL.

You talk about ‘honour’ and ‘gutless’?
You question that I’m ex Military? Do you want me to make you look utterly foolish and prove it?
All the usual baseless accusations from some gutless idiot on an Internet forum who in reality could never summon the courage to even walk through a recruiting office doorway.
What a sad act. PMSL.
Fatti: "Lol, so no list at all then? Zero, zilch, Nada! PMSL. " - there is no list, the answer is one word I gave you that. The rest is not relevant at all.
Fatti, we seem to be on the same side on this thread. I've been trying for years, both post and pre Brexit, to get any leave voter to name one concrete benefit of being out of the EU. All you'll get is esoteric waffle.
PMSL, for ‘not relevant’ you mean non-existent.
You really must try harder, you currently look as credible as a handbrake on a canoe!
