bednobs is totally right.
Brexit and it’s delivery was a long way off in 2017, everyone has revised their thoughts and stance on it since.
Even the government are changing Brexit this very minute so a story from 5 years ago doesn’t really constitute news.
Matters have moved on apace since.
It's a new story. Lankeela put the wrong link up.
I only knew because the Remainers were all full of themselves on Twitter this morning. Lol.
The link to a 2017 article was a MISTAKE.

The news story under discussion is in my and spiceracks posts. But you seem unwilling to debate that. Come back tomorrow when you have worked out (or been told) an answer.
I’ll wait until he’s actually made the speech.
Easy to put out a summary of it prior to the event in order to gauge opinion, revisions could easily be made.
Best wait until he’s actually uttered the words, no?
Regardless, in light of what the government are currently doing with the Brexit deal and how Brexit is panning out doesn’t it make all previous stances and predictions null and void?
The Labour Party have published the text of the speech. It has not been leaked without Starmer’s consent.
You reluctance to debate its contents is telling ;-)
Surely the door is wide open for someone to eek some good out of the thing. The best the Victorian pencil had to offer was some gibberish about road signs in the Blackwall Tunnel which can't be that hard an act to follow.
NI is still in the single market. Starmer says his new policy is for the UK to be out of the single market. So will he withdraw NI ?
I Hope someone asks him tonight.

What’s to debate? It’s meaningless unless he gets into power, which I doubt. He may head a coalition government, in which case the whole thing will have to be revised.

You need to stop making excuses for the OP.
Zzzzzzzz
gromit; "fatticusinch

Do you have anything to say about Starmer and the contents of his speech.
you seem to be deliberately avoiding the question.

Or it it just too difficult for you to give an answer. "
- oh dear! 5C cat fight! PMSL!
Academic anyway. All the Scottish and Irish twitterers reckoned England had burnt it's bridges and, beg as you might, they ain't letting you come crawling back.
FatticusInch

So you can’t comment on anything the leader of the opposition says because he may never get into power.
Right oh.

It is a cunning shift from Starmer.
Labour will get Brexit done right, not this mess from Johnson. The people who voted for Brexit want it to succeed, so might be persuaded to vote Labour. Those who think Johnson has made a mess of it, won’t vote for more of the same. The Europhiles in Labour will not be happy, but they will be happy if Labour starts to win by election/elections again.
// beg as you might, they ain't letting you come crawling back. //

Labour’s new policy is to get Brexit done right, not this mess of Johnson’s making.
But the EU would have us back like a shot, if only for our GDP.
The Tories and Labour have one thing in common at least:
“For Gawd’s sake say nothing bad about Brexit” :-)
