Having watched them throwing themselves wholeheartedly into the Queen's Jubilee celebrations, I think they are a credit to our nation. What say you?

No I don't think the children are a credit to our nation
I agree with every word of burlyshirley at 14:52.
They certainly are a credit to their parents -but credit to the Nation? How on earth could a child be a credit to the nation?

I , personally, would not have taken an 8 year old and 7 year old to the evening concert. How boring for them and they must have been very tired as they had had a busy day. The Pageant, yes, but evening events certainly not.

See the OP. I’m talking about the family.
The family are not a credit to the nation. They are part of a family that certainly have not been a credit to our nation in the past. They are, looking from the outside as only most people can, to be a nice upper-class family teaching their children how to behave themselves in public. Thats nice, many others do the same without the accolades .
Right, I have now cleaned my glasses and put them on.

naomi, the Cambridges are a credit to our nation. William and Kate have been working hard towards showing us they are not just people who serve but are also a normal family. As the children grow they can be seen to behave in a respectful manner and yet they still are able to enjoy themselves in a family situation. Young Louis can act up as befits his age but he is embraced by 3 generations as we have seen clearly over the recent days. William and Kate are obviously hands-on parents which is reassuring to see.

William's speech and confident delivery of it was well done at The Party.

Yes, I am a Royalist and yes there will be people who disagree with my view. So be it.
Well said Choux and wasn’t George the double of his Daddy at that age
I would like to see our monarchy not only continue but get back on the same track as our Queen. Decent upstanding people who won't be involved in divorce, cringing tapes about tampons, toe-sucking snaps, sleaze and sex scandals or defection. I think this family is absolutely the best chance of that happening and yes a credit to the nation.
Thank you bhg - great minds and all that lol ...

choux - I loved William's speech at the party, he did it so well.
Yes, they are a credit, as is the Queen.

I think the Queen has been fantastic. Charles will obviously have a much shorter reign. I hope during Charles's reign, or William's at the latest, that the monarchy is brought to a civilised end. It's anachronistic and in recent times especially, with social media and 24 hour news, it's cruel. Nobody should have their future mapped out for them at birth and their every move watched and criticised, whether they be rich or poor, a slave or a royal. Thank you, Windsor family, for your service to the nation. Here's several hundred million pounds, and a fond farewell.
I approve wholeheartedly of our future queen, but I'm just shallow. ;-)
I thought the children behaved very well. I expect four year olds to behave well if they are brought up properly. They go to school at 4 after all.
Actually I expect children from behave well younger than 4.
simple - if they don't behave when you go out, they don't go out....better than some of the snots that I see down here be it 'professionally' or the two dreadful monsters that come into the coffee-shop I use, aged about 5 and 3......
I didn’t see any of Louis’ acting up. I only watched the thing on Sunday night. I saw Charlotte looking very bored during The Party. George is always trussed up in a shirt and tie. He’s a little boy. Put a polo shirt on him.
I wish them all the best, but I think, and hope that the monarchy will be scaled down when the current Queen goes.
I loved watching them and was very impressed to see them all sing the national anthem when the Queen came on to the balcony. I could imagine their parents teaching them at home.
I have no malice what-so-ever to them as human beings, but surely the days of cow-towing to people who have contributed nothing to the nation, save being born into privilege has past? I found the children waving to be condescending, they are being taught that they are better than the peasants who come to see them. It will be an opportune moment, when the Queen dies, to scale down the Monarchy, get rid of some of the ridiculous protocols like curtseying and bowing, and try to bring the Royal Family ( if you have to) into the 21st century.

//they are being taught that they are better than the peasants who come to see them//

I don't think that's true at all. It's an old fashioned notion embraced by those stuck in the 'us' and 'them' mentality of the 1930s.
You are entitled to your opinion. Those were not joyful spur of the moment waves from little children, they were forced rehearsed waves, expected of them.

The 'them' & 'us' mentality? Surely that's a typo and you meant to write 'reality'?

Its the royals that are stuck in the past -who on earth thinks its suitable to curtsey or bow to another human just because of their pedigree? (and dubious one at that, they are more German than British)

Anyway this is totally Off Topic so appologise and will leave it there.
