in the 1999 mid term elections Labour lost 1239 seats and 32 councils

2022 Toryies have lost around 500 seats and 11 councils.
which of those 2 years would you consider to be a "drubbing"? It speaks volumes that still Labour can barely lay a glove on the Tories, even mid term post crises. Labour are the ones that should be considering a new path.

You're right There was no drubbing. The limp lettuce leaf that is Starmer is useless. You say that Labour should consider a new path and, again, think you're right. But really can't see where Labour can go from here. Heading to the Left would be mad (Corbyn) and they can't move to the Centre, ground that is supposedly occupied by Starmer. The only way forward is a...

// You're right There was no drubbing. //
it was a frackingmassacre !

People are tired of seeing the nobs whooping it up like they were still at Money College Oxbridge - and having to cope with spot fines

cripes says boris you mean I have to obey the law now and then.
Horribile pensu !
Well, I did reason yesterday that he may have to quit, Rayner too.
So that would leave 2 other high-profile politicians who might feel duty bound(there would be no question of honour in their case) to do the same, but especially so if either received a further FPN?
Do the rabid Johnson lovers not realise that their gloating would put immense pressure on the PM to follow suit?
Thread died a death quite quickly. Was it the dawning of a sudden realisation from the Starmer link that was posted?
Boris to reshuffle Cabinet in a few months time,
Moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic
What makes him think he will still be Pm in few months time.
// PP, why do you just attack Boris?//

erm because he is prime minister, in charge and the only one we've got ( prime minister that is !)

and Danny if you were PM and not a mod or an ex copper instead and doing as badly, I wd give you hell, too

( ex copper, only one of them wd say de mortuis nil nisi bonum about james anderton. jesus. you didnt live there ) - wasnt it called gun-chester at one point because of his er quaint views on arms? )
Any of the Tory luvvies want to answer my question at 13.57?
There seems to be some gloating over the Starmer link whilst being completely blind to the glaring double-standard they’ve missed?
Just come home and read through today’s postings.
A large percentage of ABers seem to be trapped in a distorted reality bubble.
Hope they all survive.

DH: "Do the rabid Johnson lovers not realise that their gloating would put immense pressure on the PM to follow suit? " - we are not gloating, read my answer at 13:04. We think the same about beer gate as we do about party gate, non issue.

DH: "Do the rabid Johnson lovers not realise that their gloating would put immense pressure on the PM to follow suit? " - no it won't because it is not a resigning issue for the PM, it could be for KS because he made it one himself by calling on the PM to go but as I have said I don't think he should go.

Seriously? In which universe is it not a resigning matter for the PM if Starmer goes?
Johnson’s administration made the rules and broke them on several occasions.
Starmer has quite possibly done so and will almost certainly resign.
What happens when Johnson gets his second FPN as is widely expected?
When are the second set of fines being issued? We were promised them after local elections.
Or are you personally saying that you don’t want Starmer to go because you know it would damage Johnson even further if he didn’t resign in tandem with Starmer?
That’s actually your point, isn’t it?

Who is ‘we’? You seem to think you’re speaking for the Tory party. It’s their MP’s that have pressured Durham Constabulary to look at this again, without realising the implications if Starmer is indeed in breach and will resign.
Or are you just making it up as you go along to suit your own agenda?
The next FPNs were promised by the Met after the local elections. So they will probably land next mid week.
Hopefully that will be the end of the Police investigation (or the could drag it out until the Summer). Only when that happens can Sue Gray and the Priviledges Committee report happen. We may have months of this to endure.
Labour have existed for 101 years, of those they have been in power for just 30, if you discount 97-2010 when they were called tory lite its just 17 years, hardly inspiring are they.
// , if you discount 97-2010 when they were called tory lite //

No they weren’t. They got elected 3 times as the Labour Party.
Proof that if you say something really stupid enough times, then someone will eventually repeat it.

DH: "Who is ‘we’? " - we are the "rabid Johnson lovers", I'm not the only one so I used we. It's English, try and learn it.

" - Labour have been in existence for 122 years of those real Labour have been in power 23.9 years, Tory Lite 13 years, Tories 68 years, Whig 16 years. The people have elected Tories 56% of that time. How do I know? I looked up the dates on Wikipedia and wrote a program to analyse.
