Mozz I can only go by experience of seeing it first hand here , we’ve friends who now have moved back to Scotland and it was he that rejoiced in my local pub when Lord Mountbatten was murdered by the IRA , pleased to say he was turfed out, I no longer see him but I am friends still with his wife on FB
Rowan, she pledged to serve this country all her life and that’s what she’ll do.
Bobbs, that is absolutely disgusting, but I'd suggest that things have changed since Mountbatten was murdered (1979, off the top of my head).

The suggestion that you either love the royals or want to see innocents die at the hands of the IRA, with no middle ground whatsoever is in my view, preposterous.
Poor woman never sought to be our Queen. I think she would rather have lived a quiet life in the country with her beloved Corgis and horses. Has she had all the jabs do you know? I think she probably did.

I do hope she recovers quickly and enjoys her last few years without her beloved husband as best she can..
Ynnafymmi, your post at 16.24 is complete and utter nonsense.
I don't agree with all of andres remarks. The Queens present illness is one thing, and I hope she gets well very soon. Andrews money problems should not be the Queens problem, NOT when its for buying himself from facing a sexual abuse allegation.

Would it have been ok for someone to have bought E. Maxwell from the jaws of justice? If you think either is right there's something very wrong.
I'm sure you can appreciate that people of that type are rare, bobbisox, and not typical of the country, although you have tended to extend the personal to the general in the past, no doubt for effect.

In conclusion, ynnafymmi wins the prize for moronic post of the year so far.

@16.49.Unfortunately up here in Scotland thats the way it goes,Mozz.Take it or leave it.
Promises made when young rarely take account the realities of ageing. She won't abdicate, but circumstances may make her vow impossible to carry out in the fullest sense to the end of her life. By remaining a support and adviser during a regency she would still be serving the country to the best of her ability.
I'm torn, imbecile or stone liar.
@16.52.Never been to a Celtic v Rangers game then Douglas?
Obviously younger members of the family are relieving her of some duties but she will stand firm in her pledge. She will reign until she dies.

Ynna- //Never been to a Celtic v Rangers game then Douglas?//

That's football, it doesn't always reflect real life, just hatred of your opponents. I'm a Spurs fan, I can recall fans of our closest neighbours (Chelsea, Millwall, Arsenal) hissing at us, impersonating gas chambers. I don't believe all fans of those teams are antisemetic. I'm sorry, I honestly think this says more about your own anti-independence fanaticism than is does about the people of Scotland.
Bless her, I am not surprised though considering her workload.
Imbecile it is then .
Why were we told about the Queen testing positive for Covid we didn't need to be? It may be that the Queen has other health issues at the moment and Covid is just convenient.
I too want her to recover from Covid, but I also realise she can't go on forever
I agree with Andres at 15:21.
Dear God, now we're bringing football, Mountbatten and the IRA into the discussion. What on earth has this to do with the Queen and covid? She apparently has mild symptoms but will be undertaking light duties.
Can’t be many 95 yr olds with mild covid doing that then Maggie eh?
