SB, I don't see anything in this situation to laugh about. Boris is right.

It was more the irony of Bozo uttering that it is time to be ‘unflinchingly honest’

From the biggest liar on the political spectrum apart from Mad Vlad
SB, you started a sensible thread on a very serious topic but it was short lived. Disregarding the earlier disruption, you have diminished its potential by reverting to type. Seems you can't help yourself.

Feel free to either step away from this one then or start your own
//Seems you can't help yourself.// ... and that IS why folk are avoiding "News" or indeed any thread that has similar attention.

That was to naomi

Not my fault the avatar haters kicked off
In an ideal world there'd be some rule that ensured politicians could only start wars if they subsequently had to go and fight on the front line. I suspect there would be fewer wars.

I fear the worst for what's happening out there.

From Sky News :
Russia claims a second exploded shell has been found on Russian territory
Russian state-backed media has claimed a second exploded shell has been found on Russian territory near the Ukrainian border.
We reported earlier that Interfax news agency was claiming a Ukrainian shell had landed on Russian territory.
Western officials believe Russia is trying to paint a picture of Ukrainian aggression as part of a false pretext for invasion, so these claims can be taken with a pinch of salt.

Looks like Putin is building his fabrications for an excuse to invade

SB, I'm not talking about the avatars - I'm talking about you with your incessant, puerile Boris bashing. The world is on alert watching events unfold in Ukraine and all you can manage is 'lolling' at Boris! Grow up! You are among the few who are ruining this section for everyone.

More irony
Giving me reasons to lol !
“ Russia claims a second exploded shell has been found on Russian territory”

When I heard about this on Reuters earlier I googled for more sources and I found a similar accusation from July 2014,
I could believe it happening then as it was an all out exchange of fire in the heat of war.
It’s hard to believe it now.
Ukrainian forces would be insane to start lobbing missiles towards Russia with half the Russian army lined up in attack formations and the world knows it.
Unfortunately the people this is intended for are the people who watch and listen to Russian state propaganda and that includes actually many in E Ukraine of course
Russia doesn’t even need to provoke Ukraine into a response to eg the shelling of a kindergarten. All they need to do is convince their own people that Ukraine is about to attack the occupied areas.
Like so many people, I have been watching events unfolding for many months and hoping against hope that Western powers could unite enough to give Putin pause and that he would settle for a diplomatic victory and plenty of concessions - not that that would have been a good outcome either because he would come back for more and eventually he would reclaim (that's how he sees it) Ukraine. It would have bought time, however, and hopefully have opened a few eyes.
Now, I am expecting an invasion imminently. I had thought that he might wait until the Olympics finished, but it is possible that the debacle over the Russian ice-skater has tipped something in his mind.
The only small and personal positive I can come up with is that my granddaughter has just started A-level studies and is doing History, specifically Russia from 1890-ish. Well before Christmas we told her to keep an eye on current affairs. I'd rather she just learnt from books though. :(

crikey - it is gloves off !

Boris is a good fella by three falls to one submission ( Not the 1948 Show around 1970)

Times today - Boris would rather be wrong - than thought unfunny/boring

oo-er Mrs!
Oh I think your avatoar is quite good

This section has become ridiculous. It is not the first time I have written a considered answer for debate and found that all posts afterwards are sniping at each other. I'm prepared to be argued with, proved wrong, agreed with, influenced - whatever. But just overlooked in the general nastiness? I always think twice before contributing on News and I shall think even harder now. I know that others are concerned, too.
More explosions on AB than Donetsk
anyone know what is happening ?
Your post was excellent Jourdain and worthy of BA imo
Question Author
Not my fault that a poster is irked at my dislike of Boris and how unfit he is for the job

Her issue is with me so she took umbrage
That is where the sniping started
She was invited to either start her own thread or not post further on this one
As does every other ABer

If she or anyone else has a problem about me posting in News she is welcome to contact the Editor and voice her concerns

Or she could simply avoid the thread just as I do with Quizzes and Puzzles ?
