there must have been 1000s of "illegal" gatherings up and down the country. It's just been hysterical that we have discovered that politicians of all sides are human too. We have Tory + Labour transgressing, I'd wager a Lib Dem soiree is out there waiting to be leaked to the press too.

Togo 11;48, thanks that gives me a chance to repost my award winning limerick:
A party leader called Starmer
Created a bit of a drama
He got thrown from a Pub
Then Banned from a club
And got hammered by Boris, that’s Karma!
I didn’t. It’s you ttt who use it the most . Just another piece of rubbish on your posts .
"Yes it's old news Corby! So is the party at No 10!"

The difference is that it was reported at the time and unless you know differently, a hundred folk had not been invited to attend.
“ Ich, the 'invitation' was an internal email to staff, the people attending were staff and the 'party' amounted to a drink in the garden. A lot of nonsense over nothing”

Hmm I don’t think that particular defence works!
There may be better ones of course
It's not a defence. It's common sense.... something that's in short supply when people prefer spin.
Corby, be it three or a hundred a party is a party.
i keep reading/hearing quotes that the queen was forced to sit on her own at the duke's funeral? . . . no she wasn't

Common sense tells me that a party doesn’t cease to be a party just because it’s only for people from work and only involves drinking in a garden.
I heard Michael Fabricant MP (whose devotion to the PM seems to extend to him trying to emulate his distinctive hairdo) make a justification for it on the grounds that if it was only people who were in contact at work anyway then it didn’t break the social contact rules ur guidelines. That view was then rubbished by a lawyer.
However it appears that the enquiry will absolve Johnson of breaking the law but of bad judgment so as I said somewhere else whether that will take some of the heat off (for now - he’s never going to change) remains to be seen
//However it appears that the enquiry will absolve Johnson of breaking the law but of bad judgment //

Good. That will apply to Starmer too then. Common sense reigns.
Now where's Gully? Enjoying a schmooze and champagne with his mate Keir?

Now let's see if Nicola, Ian Blackford or Ed Davies can be compromised like this, as well.
dannyk13 /Corby, be it three or a hundred a party is a party/

Thanks Danny :0)

Still wondering why it makes any difference if it was reported at the time!

I'm glad I don't party like a politician. Every so-called party I have seen evidence of looks more like a wake.

Did Hopper take this pic?

Technically Matt Hancock's slap and tickle in the passage way wasn't his fault, and unknown to him at the time. :0)))) It was a party so what?
Old news. That photo was widely published last May and has been discussed before on AB. It didn’t get much traction then because the accusation is bottox.

The rule at the time was you could meet other people as part of your work. Starmer was meeting a Labour MP at her constituency office in Durham. They were planning Labour strategy for the forthcoming Hartlepool by election. Only 3 people were pictured, and6 were allowed by law. Work by MPs electioneering dur ing elections was permitted.
Only 3 people were pictured

This is also Johnson’s defence I believe
This is not News. The original story 8 months ago in the Sun.

It is not a secret that Tora/Expess has just unearthed, it was prominently reported at the time (and commented on on AB).
Technically then Matt did nothing wrong meeting his staff in the passage way, and thanking her for all her hard work. Now I understand why Boris stuck up for Matt. :0)
Hancock could always stick up for himself. That was his problem.
On the 16th December 2020,Wee Burney(sorry,Mrs Murrell)had a big soiree/ party up in in Edinburgh.(No social distancing,either)An open secret up here in Scotland.Bluddy nationalists,eh.
