If so, what are their objections to the vaccine, what are they afraid of? Apart from objecting to being told what to do.

who are insane ?
yeah plenty - hur hur hur

The nearest I got was the plumber who said - - I dont want anything untested to go into my children

and I said that is ridiculous - there are routin e vaccinations in children

and he said yeah foo ( we have had this before you know) but this is untested

and I said - a billion doses given is that enough ?

and he said - I am not like Madonny you know - and I said, yeah you dont sing like her or have her money .....
There will always be contrarians - mostly just for the sake of it.
Reasons are the usual goop of illogic - misquoted fact and so on

If I have the vaccine I may get Guillain Barre and DDDDIIIIIEEEEE
( yes: she knows who she is....)

and people have said - yeah dying is much more likely iv Covid,

and get the crushing answer: yes that is what you say ! NJ ( who REALLY should know better ) says covid = flu, and he also has views on Madonny !

and so on.....
I wonder at the right not to be vaccinated = right to infect compromised patients and kill (some) of them

and get paid for doing it !
It’s a personal choice that should not be taken away from anyone
I have ahad two but I wont have a third.

Mainly because I had the AZ, I would have another AZ but they wont let me. Why?

// I have had two but I wont have a third.//

Same here. I had no acute symptoms with both Pfizer shots but a few weeks later got the symptoms of long covid, which are still with me and I'm sure it was because of the vaccinations. I prefer to continue with masks and sensible social distancing.
youngmafbog I don't think they are giving the AZ as the booster.
My first 2 were the AZ and the booster I was offered was the pfizer, but because I've had anaphylaxis in the past, I could only have a half dose of the Moderna which I had on Sunday.
The Pfizer vax is reckoned to be the most effective as a booster. If you have had a bad reaction to it you may get another vax as a booster.
I'm having the Pfizer as a booster tomorrow, having had AZ the first two
The AZ booster has been shown in certain individuals to block the production of antibodies thus reducing its efficacy in booster programmes.

The Pfizer booster is said to be95% efficient in booster antibody production.
You can’t catch Covid FROM the vaccines.

Not sure I understand the logic behind have the first two but not having the third. Each to their own …
I don't understand why you would have the first 2 but not the 3rd?
Sqad do you have any info on the Moderna half dose as the booster?
me @ 12.11
My first two were AZ and my booster was Pfizer. No problems with any. I would rather have the vaccinations than risk getting Covid. I'm afraid I don't agree with the people who don't have it (unless of course there is a valid health reason). I certainly don't agree with people who protest against it. I won't post my thoughts about them as they are not nice!!!!
/// It’s a personal choice that should not be taken away from anyone ///

That's a glib cop-out. So where would you draw the line? Here's a few examples of personal choice, which are all proscribed, for you to mull over.

The choice to kill for kicks (it does happen).
The choice to rape
The choice to help oneself to other people's property
The choice to pee in the street (after all, dogs do it)
The choice to play loud music all night
The choice to let off fireworks at any time
The choice to go naked in public
The choice to park on double yellow lines

So you don't really have a choice always if you want to fit in with society - or do you agree with Thatcher's "no such thing as society, everyone for themselves".

And what about good old democracy - polls suggest a far greater majority for compulsory vaccination than that for Brexit for example. The Will of The People and all that.
Barsel ....yes the Moderna vaccine is just as effective as the Pfizer vaccine and the JCVI are considering using it as a booster in the UK.
Sqad, I had to wait quite a few weeks before I could get the Moderna and eventually got it at a pharmacy as they let me know they had a delivery of it last Saturday.
The pharmacist did say they are hoping delivery will improve for it for those whose doctors have recommended it.
ichkeria // You can’t catch Covid FROM the vaccines.//

No one on here as said otherwise.

I said I got symptoms of long covid about 4 weeks after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. I have had covid in the very early days and got over it with no long covid symptoms.
I had the first two, but not the third.
The reasons being- I had an allergy to the first (not a bad reaction, an actual allergy). And worse with the second.
And, i won't be offered the 3rd anyway. There is nothing which makes me valid for it.

Each to their own. Your vaccine will only protect "you", so entirely your choice. And they aren't 100% safe, as we always knew they weren't going to be.

And lastly, principle. I fully understand why careworkers have left and are leaving. Visitors and NHS staff and residents don't need to be vaccinated. Not everyone is confident or safe with it. And those people in particular, have had choice and bodily autonomy drummed into them, since Day 1. And would be hypocrites to change their minds now.
