"On Thursday Poland's top court ruled that key articles of EU law were "incompatible" with the constitution." - looks like Poland also have their share of remoaners.

Spending an extra £350m per week on the NHS would be a waste - probably go in inflated admin salaries.

Gulli - we've had a few other unexpected expenses of late.
Gulliver, do you actually know how much expenditure on the NHS has increased year on year?
And what has that got to do with Poland anyway?
gully, //11.30, I am still waiting to see where the £350m a week Boris promised on his Bus , ,,,has gone to, ?,,, //

Was he Prime Minister at the time? You do know what a Prime Minister is, don't you?
TTT; //Interesting chart Khandro...//
Yes, the Poles were taking out what the UK was putting in, but that's not the whole story: .... with getting towards 1 million living in the UK who have been availing themselves of the NHS, education & housing they are on a pretty good deal. (and having entered WWII on there behalf, we don't IMO owe them too much)

Still, I must admit I like them.
Polexit on the way?

No.

// Poland's right-wing populist government has found itself increasingly at odds with the European Commission over issues ranging from LGBT rights to judicial independence.

Last week Jacek Karnowski, editor-in-chief of the pro-government Sieci weekly, told the BBC that Polexit was "unimaginable and unrealistic", although he said the topic was now a matter of discussion.

On Monday, the European Commission's industry chief, Thierry Breton, said he did not believe "for one second" there would be a Polexit after the court ruling.

Opinion polls consistently show strong backing for EU membership among Polish voters. //
Gully,
// They would not have stood for the likes of Johnson and Farage to hoodwink them. //

I fear they would, and did…

Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki and his Law and Justice Party, make UKiP look like the Women’s Institute. The are very far right wing.
It's going to be an interesting time with the Eastern Bloc countries over the coming years.

Yes, they have received a lot of money, but as TTT points out savings will have to be made and its likely that countries such as Poland which now have better economies will be at the sharp end. Eastern Bloc countries also tend to have a very different outlook on life the the Bruxelles bureaucracy.

Could go either way IMHO.
It must be a terrible embarrassment for TheBrexiteers every time Boris's infamous bus is mentioned on here, and how stupid they must feel for believing in it..... I shall have to refrain from mentioning it in future, sorry.
Another evidence-free post from Gulliver. The only person you embarrass is yourself.
gully, //I shall have to refrain from mentioning it in future//

The only reason you should refrain from mentioning it is because you make yourself look a twit every time you do.

GullY: "t must be a terrible embarrassment for TheBrexiteers every time Boris's infamous bus is mentioned on here, " - all it does is highlight how illiterate the remoaners are.
TTT,

// all it does is highlight how illiterate the remoaners are. //

A lot of Brexiteers misread it too, because it was deliberately meant to deceive.

// A week before the referendum, pollsters working for Britain Stronger in Europe admitted that they were getting extremely worried about Vote Leave’s suggestion that £350m sent to the EU could be diverted to British priorities such as the NHS. Guardian focus groups in Brighton and Knowsley suggested many voters saw the message and believed it.

One woman in Merseyside told the group: “Just think, we could get £20bn back a year and make the country great again.” //

The pollsters in your link obviously didn’t misread it gromit. They’ve identified it as a ‘suggestion’ which is precisely what it was.
Problem is naomi24, it wasn’t phrased as a suggestion.

We send the EU £350m a week
Let’s fund the NHS instead

Deliberately misleading.

for effs sake !
Only for the hard of understanding, gromit. ‘Let’s’ is nothing like ‘We will’, and if they’d thought just a little harder they’d have realised that no one involved with that bus was in a position to make any promises. They really didn’t engage their brains, did they - and it seems some are still struggling to do that.
12.15 +13,35 And even more "repetitive inane claptrap" from Naomi. "You are Pathetic Naomi you really are"
Question Author
gromit 15:18, yes I agree illiteracy to various levels is a widespread problem.
Question Author
who'd have thought that 2 English sentences would be so tough for 16 million English speakers to read. Maybe they all went to remoaner school! PMSL!
Who has seniority in the propaganda office at Conservative Party HQ, Tora or naomi?

I know they both work under the partially sighted high-flyer , codename Blind Faith.
