I know they are footballers but I read elsewhere that they consider themselves too fit to catch Covid
Do they not realise that it does not discriminate on age or health or gender ?
Bit ironic that the story breaks on the day Tom Daley reveals he caught Covid and was very ill as a result
The fact that they played in empty stadiums until recently does not appear to have registered with them !

// Some non-covid vaccines lose their effectiveness over time & need to be "refreshed" periodically.//

VERY large literature on this
Viruses mutate, as we know, and therefore vaccines need to change with them.
As far as I know, no previous coronavirus has ever had a successful vaccine
VLL - RNA viruses tend to need topping up - but Hep B is for life !
and Herpes simplex (DNA) my fave
60% have antibodies at 60 and still get cold sores !
whereas you can vaccinate again ca cervix ( also a Herpes virus)

and so boys and girlz - waning immunity rates should be on re-infection, and NOT antibody levels.... ho hum keeps the virologists off the streets
"Some non-covid vaccines lose their effectiveness over time & need to be "refreshed" periodically."

Indeed. I had to have the MMR at 33 years of age after my daughter was born. The immunity I had from the teen Rubella vaccine had disappeared.

Lol, wanna bet?
// I know they are footballers but those with particularly small brains should be kept chained up// - blimey you can say that again !

Who said that in the first instance?
\\According to the report, the players have listed a number of reasons for their alleged unwillingness to take the vaccine.//

I read it on facebook...
When England go that one step further and win a major tournament, then they will feel like proper 'Pricks'.
// Another refused after buying into bizarre “conspiracy theories” that the jab is a tool for governments to spy on people.

The others are said to have been pressured against having it by their anti-vaxxer Wags. //

FIFA plan to ban unvaccinated players from the world cup finals.
My bet is all England players will all be vaccinated before that.
//The others are said //

Ah, so hearsay.

//they consider themselves too fit to catch Covid//

And where did you read that? More hearsay?

Most likely they consider the risk of a vaccine is higher than the risk of death from Covid. And they would be most likely to be correct.

Either way, their choice you should not be coerced or forced into a vaccine or any other medication. Smacks too much of Mengele.
Their choice... it actually does discriminate on health, gender and age. Although nothing is guaranteed.
Personally, I'm not worried... I'm more concerned with the lack of carers we will have.
Pretty good point, that, pixie.
PP //yup they sure do: not to be infected by jerks.//

Who is forcing people to watch or play in matches?
Thanks, spice.
Yes Pixie, my daughter (who is young and has had covid) wont have it so she wont be going back after her son is born.

I already know several who have left now... some just don't want it, some are double-vaxxed and don't agree with force, and a couple are pregnant, and don't want to risk it yet.
My daughter, has also had covid, is still breastfeeding and unvaxed, she is planning to go into homecare... where it isn't needed.
What seems daft, is that nobody worried for 18 months, that unvaccinated carers, without PPE, were already looking after the most vulnerable people... while many were off work and paid. They even got clapped for it. Now, they are sacked, if they won't "protect themselves", even though they are equally likely to pass it on either way.
Ymb,
Oh dear, sorry to see you have come out as an anti-vaxxer.
// the risk of a vaccine is higher than the risk of death from Covid. //

He didn't say that, gromit. And people have died from the vaccine. With young, healthy, fit people... they should consider their own risks. In any case, it isn't up to anyone else to make a health decision for them.
