Freddy McConnell is a man. the law says so.
but the law also says he can't be a father.
the law can be so confusing.
This is simply sorted out. You can't have a pregnant man (yadda yadda preop transexuals) but you CAN have a pregnant man emoji (mostvemojis don't look like a real thing you know) life as we know it is not going to stop
The emoji is more a symptom than the problem. I can't see any reason why a group of either sex, shouldn't be able to get together if they want to, to talk about breastfeeding, menopause, prostate cancer, childbirth etc... without having to invite the opposite sex. What word would you suggest for those people?
SP, your example is wrong. As mozz says, you can't have a male mother, so your example of a "man" producing eggs and giving birth, makes them a mother- and therefore, a woman, female...

I'm afraid it's not a fact when it's open to interpretation.

There may many to agree with you, but equally there are many who disagree - some of the other respondents here suggest that.

However, I think we can agree that if you believe, you can believe it be to true.
Excuse me, mushroom, not mozz.
SP, // it's open to interpretation.//

Only in Cloud Cuckoo Land. In the real world men aren't women and women aren't men. It's not difficult.
naomi- //In the real world men aren't women and women aren't men.//

Ray Davies had it right.

Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world
A rose, by any other name...
Can we please stop conflating biological sex with gender? Two different things.

A trans-man ie someone born biologically female has the 'equipment' to give birth [barring hysterectomy/other medical procedures etc].

My partner was incredibly selfish. We had 4 children, and I carried, gave birth and breastfed them all. Now I know he could at least have had a couple of them. How ungentlemanly.
I think we can close this off by saying that whatever you believe is fact and that anyone who disagree with you is obviously an idiot.

Thank you for opening my eyes.

You’ve ABSOLUTELY won this one.

(Everyone else - careful where you tread with one…naomi24 has the time and willingness to keep this one going for the rest of the live long day).
She doesn't need to, sp. Close off whatever you like. The truth remains the truth.

Sweet Jesus.

As Chandler once said in Friends…

“Can open…worms all over the place”.

I’ll leave this one with you

;-)
This is why it's a matter of choice of definition though. There is no dispute over the biological fact that only a person with a functioning uterus can get pregnant. People saying "men can get pregnant" aren't disputing this either, and it's a mistake therefore to suggest that they are peddling fantasies. They just disagree over whether "man" is a label of one's biological sex or of one's gender.
That has never been in dispute, Jim. Except by a tiny minority who wish otherwise.
What word would you use for a human with ovaries and a uterus?

I was only referring to the thread. I’ve seen discussions going on on this site where two camps with intractable viewpoints argue infinitum.

Sometimes it makes more sense to realise that someone will never agree with you and you will never persuade them to ‘you side’ and give up and enjoy the day.
Close off whenever you like, sp. You were making no sense anyway.
Female.
Right, I'm a female. Clearly, no longer "a woman" as I neither "identify" as one (well, only because I have no choice) or follow all the right stereotypes.
Why are our words being stolen and changed to mean something entirely irrelevant? Who cares how people present or think, and how does that change your sex?
