I noticed that at the end they shuffled Max Headroom in ... who, in his usual predictable boring drone, said that Boris was reckless, putting us all at risk of an agonising death, jeopardising World peace, dooming the economy to years of capitalism, and failing to promise "self isolators" a Million quid a week for as long as it takes. It wasn't quite as interesting as that. Obvs.

If he lifts most restrictions and the figures rise, he can't contribute it to solely not wearing masks. It could be any of the lifted restrictions or combination of two or more. Prof. Whitty said a few monthe ago that we have to learn to live with it, wonder why he's backtracking now. And they're still on about the NHS being overrun, it's a chance we have to take.

Why? That’s never been done in the past. If it had been suggested eighteen months ago the idea would have been dismissed as laughable or outrageous. Then, of course, it is but a short step from there to “You’ve got a cold? Best stay in for ten days then.”

Unfortunately any positives about masks Boris says will be counteracted by the dirge of Chris Whitty who's just confirmed on BBC World News that I'm watching that he will and thinks we should still wear masks in many situations..

I think Boris and the scientists think they can encourage people in this country to wear a mask when they have a cold/flu/throat infection as citizens of Japan/HK/China do. I doubt it will happen though.

He (Chris Witty) was asked when he'd wear a mask and I thought he gave 3 well thought out situations in which he'd do it. They seemed reasonable to me and I'm sure to many others but I respect that some have had enough of masks and that some are less interested in protecting others and just put there own intrests well above those of others
