Those trade deals which were all going to be sewn up by the time we Got Brexit Done nearly eighteen months ago, . . . . . well, er, um, we're getting round to it soon.

In Portsmouth today Boris said,"We are certainly looking at doing free trade deals around the world.". Just looking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ministers are keen to strike as many trade deals as possible following Brexit , and Ms Truss wants one in place with Australia by the time the UK hosts the G7 summit - of leading economies - in June.

We've certainly got the clown, and he's running a right circus.

he's not a clown, and yes trade deals take time, we are on the brink of a trade deal with Australia, there have been others like Singapore i believe, which didn't get that much publicity.

one with Japan, as i have linked, there are others that are in the pipeline.

it took four and half years to extricate ourselves from the wretched EU, now is the time to look forward not back.
and in case you hadn't noticed something happened around March last year, guess what it was, perhaps its slipped your mind. We have been in one lockdown after another and now thats lifting travel can resume. Boris was due to go to India for talks on trade, but the Indian variant put the kybosh on that, but once things start to settle, then those talks can resume presumably.
trade deals take a very long time and we are not in a very strong bargaining position sadly... but nothing can be done about it now
well, er, um, there’s been a pandemic.
you lost, suck it up.
Blah blah blah Canary's usual rubbish.
You believed him. It's easy to convince a fool.
so the Ozzie one which will be a big trade deal if it goes ahead and all the others are fictitious? god you are a sour puss canary.
quite the opposite in fact, we are in a good strong position, what on earth is wrong with you people.
Slow news day.
emmie: "quite the opposite in fact, we are in a good strong position, what on earth is wrong with you people." - they lost so they pray for failure.
seems that wasy TTT, though why is anyone's guess.
Trade deal with the Ozzies, all on their terms, with the Ozzies holding the trump cards and laying down the rules ........Desperate Boris.

trade is a two way street, we don't trade just to lose out. one trades goods to make money. Next will be the Americans, that could be more problematic, with UK farmers worried, about certain US farming practices, we will just have to see.
Gulliver -wow -had no idea you worked for the Department of International Trade.....do tell us more......
i wish you would stop being flippant or even rude, its totally unnecessary.
The EU had about 40 trade deals covering more than 70 countries at the time the UK left.
The UK has made deals to continue trading in the same way with 63 of these countries.

However, deals with four countries - Albania, Jordan, Canada and Mexico - have not fully come into force yet. The Jordan deal, for example, will not be in effect until March 2021.
