So N.I.C.E. Has decided that people with chronic ideopathic pain should no longer be prescribed painkillers by their doctors, but should be told to take exercise or talking therapy, seems a bit harsh.
And no Tora there isn’t a link, try reading/watching the flipping news.

13;35, it's ok because I reproduced it for you in my 13:13 reply, where, despite your abuse, I have attempted to help you once again. You seem to be a very angry person.
And I see the reply having posed mine.

It was a nasty little dig at TTT then.

You have answered 268 questions since Apr 2008, TTT 34290 since 2013. I wonder who would be missed more so please dont have a hissy fit just move on.
I've never known someone get so angry about not being able to do links. Even Gulliver! Odd because it really is incredibly simple.

I've heard TENS machines are useful for pain and heat treatments.
Possibly lockdown, it has made many people irritable and angry - myself included.

It is easy for you and I (I understand you are in IT too) but for others it is not quite so straightforward.
They can be Tiggs, it's often about experimenting with what suits you best.

Maybe TTT will comment n the subject matter soon.
I get it, that's why I always try and help, I often answer tech questions etc.
well mamy, the question seems primarily intended as a vehicle to insult me, however, as you wish:
A lot of these alternative "treatments" are load of old pony and if I was in pain I'd not welcome being told to go and have a chat etc. I do accept that painkillers are not the only answer but when you are in agony they do seem attractive.
Like I wrote on the previous page in the DM the title is:

"New warning over powerful painkillers: GPs are told not to prescribe pills for chronic aches with no known cause... and recommend exercise instead, latest guidelines say"

So you can have painkillers if the reason for it is diagnosed. Actually seems sensible to me.
13.49 gotta a link?
ludwigvan - don't go, have a short break if you feel like, but don't go just because someone has annoyed you. It happens All the time on here.
I’ve just Googled Talking Therapy as I’d never heard of it...so it’s counselling then - when did that change?

If I was in pain, the origin of which was unknown, I wouldn’t want to be prescribed ‘go and have a chat’, I’d want drugs

Care to explain how?
Puzzles me that Ludwig's was removed but the repetition wasn't.
/////Care to explain how?/////
Not really danny, it is just going over the same old ground, the comment based on years of observing posts removed in what to me were interesting topics.
ludwigvan have you actually READ what NICE has said?
ludwigvan have you actually READ what TTT has said?
no would be the answer to both.
