Tory censorship now strikes at its own Party's Ministers. What a useless bunch they're turning out to be.

It was oven ready.

The EU refused to open the oven door. But they had ulterior motives.
"You seem keen on pushing no-hopers as being better for some reason. The country needed a patriot at the helm. "

Johnson cares about nobody but himself Old_Geezer. He's not a patriot. Rory Stewart spent years in diplomatic and political service quietly and competently representing his country's interests. Johnson had a spell as foreign sec... the less said of it the better, balls up after balls up. I say stewart is better because he is better and would have been a far better choice to lead this country in a crisis. So would Jeremy Hunt, who was not a "no-hoper" - he came second. But the tories didnt want competence, they wanted someone worse and however they choose to rationalise it after the fact is up to them but it is the rest of us who have to endure it.
Ah yes... all the EU's fault... of course :)
Entitled wanted a completely non-tory Tory Party leader.
I heard it was a very good speech. Haven't had time to listen yet.
So you thought corbyn was a patriot did you Untitled. Given the choice of him or Boris it would be Boris every time for me even if I didn't like him.
//They could have elected a competent leader...//

Who might that have been then?

There are no competent political leaders in the Tory party or, for that matter in any other party. If they were competent leaders they'd be in another business.
I said I wasn't interested in defending Labour theshedman.
NJ, maybe that's right, but the country gave a mandate and the tories for good or ill chose their leader. No amount of banging on about it is going to change that.
"
Entitled wanted a completely non-tory Tory Party leader."

It would be a start spicerack! Either that or the party grows up and starts choosing better people to lead the rest of us. It would be nice ideally if labour did the same but they have not been anywhere near power for a decade and probably won't have a sniff until 2030...
Of course it's their fault, encouraged by dissidents in the UK creating obstacles. The oven ready option is still there.

Anyone considering not freeing this nation is no supporter of it nor of democracy. The Tories wanted someone able to gather support of the electorate and push through the exit from the EU. Other suppositions regarding who they chose is irrelevant as it looks as if we got what we needed at present.
There is a lot more to governing this country than brexit old geezer you are suffering from tunnel vision. give me someone competent that i disagree with over an idiot or conman who says tells me what i want to hear any day. Too bad the tories disagree.
their choice, untitled, for the time being its that or have a vote of no confidence, and can't see that happening, we are in uncharted waters with Brexit looming and a rampant virus, you don;t care for him, your choice nor do many on here it would seem But ab is one small forum and has no voice. If people want to select a different party they are going to have to wait a while.
in pretty much the same way as the moans and groans on AB about covid and what should or should not be done, no one on AB has a say in government and can affect the outcome in any way, we just have to try and make the best of things in the long term.
//uncharted waters\\

Thank .you for getting the term right. I have lost count of the number of times I've seen 'unchartered waters'
wasn't delberate, but ...

I don't think anyone could say that Boris has had an easy time, what with Covid and Brexit, alongside all the other demands of PM. And he's a lot of mistakes along the way. But, if the Tories hadn't won last year's election, we could have Comrade Corbyn in No 10 (shudder).
they were unelectable under Corbyn, i feel that SKS has still to prove himself
Why do people bring up labour? Labour have not had a chance at power since 2010 and won't get another one until 2029 at the earliest... that means the conservatives are responsible for this countrys leadership and will be for the foreseeable - they are ballsing it up.
according to you, who hates Boris no matter what he does.
Liz Truss is an idiot. Used to work with her.
