I loved him as DS Hathaway, but he seems to have gone a bit weird.
With his own political party promoting a rather confused set of ideas.

Mozz, you know there are people on these boards (approximately two) it is pointless to debate with unless you want to be here all night.
//approximately two//

Oh, I don't know, I can think of a good half a dozen.

I’m puzzled as to what aspect of Sainsbury’s support for Black History Month does Mr Fox thinks is segregationist?
Also why on earth do people like him and Kilroy-Silk set up political parties?
It’s a pretty pointless exercise other than it allows you to raise money of course, but you could do that presumably by founding pressure groups etc.

It's not all bad. It might have the potential to draw votes away from the Tories.
Question Author
I can’t see it (taking many votes from the Tories)
Parties like that tend to die a death. Even TIG, who stood half a chance as they were formed from other parties, died a death not long after birth. Unless you have a novel, simple idea like eg Brexit, that no one has seriously thought of before ...
That’s how UKIP managed to poll millions of votes, if no seats to speak of. The other UKIP guff people largely disregarded. Reclaim, it seems, has only the guff.
I thought Fox at first was just someone who appreciated plain speaking but he’s plainly much much less :-)

David Mitchell should be a carpenter, for he pretty much nails it here ;-)

And I think as a matter of fact people in general LIKE things like LGBT awareness and Black History week. Without necessarily wanting to go on marches about it.
People like to think their local supermarket is “nice” and “cares”. Someone will have researched that you may be sure
So he may be shooting himself in the foot here. Expression of cynicism maybe, but boycott??
Is he the one who played the side kick to John Nettles ?

Hasn't he got any murders to solve ?

Anyway , I doubt Sainburys will be losing a significant number of customers because of its action

Its been donkeys since I ventured into one of their premises , and that was one of their city centre shops ,when I worked in the city centre

It's been mentioned that their prices are high ( I wouldn't
know ) so that is more likely the reason if they are losing customers , rather than anything else

Surely he is referring to the idiotic decision to segregate black people from white people.

No?
Question Author
"Surely he is referring to the idiotic decision to segregate black people from white people."

That is what he appears to think.
But that is why I ask: where does it say Sainsbury's (or anyone else) are doing that?
On their website
Back in the day, I trained and worked at Sainsbury’s as a butcher. They were a good company then, what happened?
is this anything to do with Black History month?
Question Author
Where is the bit that says they are segregating people?
//Is he the one who played the side kick to John Nettles ?//

No. He played sidekick to Kevin Whately (Detective Inspector Robbie Lewis) in "Lewis."
//Recently we provided our black colleagues with a safe space to gather in response to the Black Lives Matters movement.//
Question Author
Are you serious?
Question Author
"No. He played sidekick to Kevin Whately (Detective Inspector Robbie Lewis) in "Lewis." "

And very good he was too. Funnily enough it was almost as if he really brought himself to the part, because he was pretty much a maverick officer. Erudite, standoffish, almost arrogant.
There is a lot to be said for that, but he does appear to be making a fool of himself with all this.

What is that supposed to mean?
Are you going to say it is not segregation?
Question Author
No it doesn't sound like segregation to me, however I don't really know exactly what was done there.

I am prepared to stick my neck out and say that Sainsburys do not have a policy of segregating their staff on grounds of race - and how would that work anyway.
Question Author
Just to remind you ...

"Laurence Fox says he is boycotting Sainsbury's for 'promoting racial segregation and discrimination' after it announced support for Black History Month"

So whatever he thinks is going on it obviously has to do with their support for Black History Month.
The idea that Sainsbury's is promoting a form of staff apartheid seems utterely far fetched and ludicrous
How else can you describe it?

A space that is specifically for black people away from I'm going to assume white people.

I really interested in your answer.
