What exactly do you think was wrong with it? It could have said black, yellow brown, pink, purple etc etc but because it said "white" then people have taken offence, why?. White lives do matter, all lives do

The short answer is that people are stupid.
Indeed, all lives do matter. The trouble began when emphasis was placed on solely black lives. Whatever the problems are that black people seemingly face the message suggests that their lives matter above others. This incident demonstrates that.
It would have been better if it read "All lives Matter" but it really is no different to the slgan on all the footballers shirts.

For me politics should be kept out of sport. Odd how they were not allowed to wear a poppy but can wear a slogan for an anti capitalist extreme left wing organisation.

Burnely FC need to be careful. Once the stadiums start to fill watch out for the boos. Most just want football not political statements they go there to get away from that.
Burnley FC should be ashamed for being so PC.
At least the police have decided that no crime was committed - common sense reigns for once!
Its inviting a white backlash.
Nothing wrong with it at all. You can tell that by the amount of hand wringing it's caused.
Not the poppy thing again. The FA WANTED and ALLOWED England players to wear the poppy. They were fined for doing so.
Everybody and his uncle knows that the term "Black Lives Matter" was coined in response to the apparent lack of restraint the US police force show when tackling black criminals. They appear to be under the guidance of, "If he's white, chase him. If he's black, shoot him dead." The peaceful BLM protests have been hijacked by those with a sinister motive - as are many a peaceful protest. To retaliate with "White Lives Matter" is to completely misunderstand and undermine the BLM message. /thy are not saying their lives matter more than ours but that their lives actually matter, contrary to popular (on AB at least) opinion.
Theland, any club would have acted in the manner of BFC in denouncing this antagonistic stunt, paid for by a known racist. I am beginning to suspect that there are those on these pages who would welcome said racist into their homes with open arms - despite the virus!
Daisypotter; Common sense has nothing to do with it. If he had broken the law, he would have been dealt with. He hasn't, so he's not being dealt with by the police. Don't think he'll be passing through the turnstiles at Turf Moor any time soon, though.
What an insulting post Ken, not that I would expect anything from a hard leftie like yourself.
BLM are a hard left anarchist movement ken, they dont care about the lives of all Black people only the ones who think they can take power rather than earn it like the majority of hard working black people.

You support the abolishion of Police and Prisons I guess? I have no doubt you support the abolition of capitalism, another of their goals.
Hard leftie? You really are a moron, ymf. Have you never read any of my posts on the subject of my political allegiance.

Common sense I said and common sense I meant! Shouldn't have even looked into it as being a 'crime'. I'm sure they have better things to do with their time.
And Ken carry on, I'm just going to ignore you from now on in, although I admit your childish insults do make me laugh.
I suggest people watch this interview with Ben Mee if they’ve not already done so.
In any case, as confirmed by the link above, no one is suggesting anyone has done anything illegal
