While some of the wealthiest companies in the UK are furloughing hundreds of staff, the Mail decides that Coogan is greedy because 2 members of his staff, who are unable to work because of Social distancing, have been temporarily put on the furlough scheme. They compare him to Phillip Green, who say plundered BHS until it went bust, putting 11,00 out of work and a massive £571m deficit in its pension fund.
The Mail don't like Coogan because he is a retainer and campaigned against illegal phone hacking by grubby tabloids such as Mail.
11,00 out of work out of work (and permanently).
11,000 out of work out of work (and permanently).
:-)
Been around long enough to know better Linda ;-)
I think the problem with people like Coogan is that they like to lecture morality but when the chips are down they act like the rest of us.

The other reason is that Coogan was a big supporter of Corbyn and someone who would perhaps be very critical of 'fat cats' furloughing staff at the taxpayers expense.

Victoria Beckham received criticism from the press too when she did it
There are also replies on your other thread. You could have added this link to that one rather than start a new one, Linda
someone who would perhaps be very critical

has he been? Or are people just projecting?
i wonder if coogan would have furloughed staff had we a labour government with the same policy, he could have paid them out of his own pocket and sent a message of his altruism, and im not a cheapskate... maybe he thinks everyone else is at it, so why not.
Maybe he feels that he’s paid enormous amounts of tax and this is a way of recouping a small amount of it back.
My views on this creature are same as my views on the creature in on"Ill just leave this here" feature on this site.
@19.02.His kind never pay tax,David. They leave that to us mugs. This geezer is basically a left-wing Tory with a chip on his shoulder.
Maybe this, maybe that. If this, if that. Perhaps this, perhaps that. Could be this, could be that. This is what we've heard all the way through this lockdown. Especially on this website. If my aunt had been born on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, she might have been my uncle. Perhaps. Maybe. Could have been. Might have. Or, as Johnson would say, it's a fact that she could have been.
Maybe some post nonsense for the sake of it. It's News not Chatterbank, 10CS

Poor Steve. Looking out for his mum and dad's health and gets nothing but abuse from far right wing fascists.
Very sarcy,Spicey.Mr.Coogan could also be considered as a fascist considering the amount of the free press he wants closed down.Didnt Herr Schiklegruber try the same thing.
