I have a teddy called Archie that my granddaughter made for me at school. He sits on my bed during the day and I've found myself turning him so that he can look out of the window all day. Help!

perfectly normal.
What is really distressing is the fact that you are sleeping with a bear. Get rid of it pronto before it awakes from its hibernation. The weather is getting warmer, so you barely have enough time!
Is it a Brown, Grizzly or a Polar Bear ? ( or a Winnie The Pooh lookalikey ).
Surely you've asked Archie for his opinion.
I have a grizzly Bear in/on my bed - the other night I told him he'd get cold as he'd kicked the duvet off, though to be fair it was probably me.
Teddies HAVE to know what's going on around them, so that they can judge what sort of mood you might be in and ready to offer you comfort when you most need it!

;-)
Yes, perfectly normal. And does he tell you what he's been looking at all day?
He's quite probably gazing sorrowfully out the window watching, enviously as all the other teddy bears gaily gadabout at the pick-nick in the near-by woods.
We've got a reclining concrete teddy bear in our garden, and I have to position him so he is looking at the house.
I've had to turn my Teddy away from the TV this season when Match Of The Day has been on.

Anyway, Maggie, why are you worried about the first signs of madness? Surely you're up to several hundred in the list by now?

I'm going to ask him what he's been watching all day when I go to bed. Maybe he'd like a day in the garden tomorrow if it's sunny, we could have a picnic.

Great idea that, maggie. The fresh air would do him a world of good I'm sure.
I have a toy cat called Zeb that my son gave me. He's a reminder of my boy when I can't see him (I have no access at the moment). When I was hospitalised a couple of years ago, Zeb came with me. At.one point, I had to go to a different hospital for some scans. When I returned, Zeb was sat on my bed with a face mask (back in the days when they had some!), a cat sized gown, a drip tube and a catheter.

The nurses were clearly having a quiet day.

you should never let your bear see you're bare.
Never let your bear see your bare what?
aww, Mozz, that was lovely :-)
(well, not the catheter and drip bits obviously)
Is that why mine has his eyes closed?
knees, Braini, knees (tut, what else would it possibly be :-))))
When our daughter was born she was six weeks early and weighed 3lb. Mr BD turned up at the hospital with the biggest teddy I had ever seen (at that time). When we finally got her home he took a photo of Big Ted sitting on the settee and holding our baby on his knee. She still has him and she is 52 this year. He has his own chair in her flat. Bet he could tell a few stories.
