Well done him. But I agree that the NHS is to be funded by taxes rather than charity. Whilst every little helps, maybe the NHS can earmark some or all of it to be of direct benefit to those coming in to work with patients.
OG - the BBC were talking to the man receiving the charity this morning and the money goes to eg, meals etc for NHS staff, not equipment of the sort that the government pays for.
As I understand it the NHS Charities fund the extras that the government does not - things that the hospital departments are woefully short of but are not life saving as such. I recently got given a second hand tv and the lady would not take anything for it so I made a donation via an Amazon wish list for the local hospital which bought a couple of pairs of nail clippers - not much in the scheme of things but two things they were short of.
