I think I know that nailit, your point is?
//totally ignoring our equally important mental and spiritual welfare//
What Vulcan ^ says.
Shoota, I dont get YOUR point.
So people should be allowed to travel fraudulently on the trains willy-nilly for the sake of their equanimity?
Please...
The first part without the question mark was a statement. The second part was a question that had a question mark to denote it was a question.

Are you for or against following the guidelines to the lockdown, nailit?
//So people should be allowed to travel fraudulently on the trains willy-nilly for the sake of their equanimity?//
I havnt said that though have I?
what are you saying, then, nailit? What should the police have done exactly?
The point is nailit, that she is a fare dodger who refused to give her details.
Not some poor oppressed woman who needed to get out for a breath of fresh air.
Roy, I am agreeing with you. Its confusing.
//what are you saying, then, nailit? What should the police have done exactly?//
Im saying that the police should act within their boundries jno.
Charge the woman with a criminal offence...ticket dodging.
You're not agreeing with me, nailit.
If she didn't have a valid reason for being out she got what she deserved. Joy-riding on the train isn't a valid reason.
Nothing would have happened differently in that case nails, only the amount she was fined would have been different which is the remit of the magistrates.
So your comment that it was heavy handed policing is patently wrong.
//"Isn't there an offence "going equipped"//

Yes. Section 25 of the Theft Act 1968. Maximum penalty three years custody.

But this is slightly different. The government has decided that the strategy to beat the virus is to prevent, as far as reasonably practical, close contact between people. contact between people. This is unlike their earlier strategy where they urged people not to go to the pub but thought nothing of them becoming involved in a rugby scrum whilst trying to obtain supplies in a supermarket.

This woman clearly failed the attitude test, which is not very helpful. More than that, she refused to enter a plea in court and almost certainly refused to provide details of her financial means. (I say that because the £811 she was told to pay equates to a fine of £660, a Victim Surcharge of £66 and £85 costs. The guideline fine for the offence is a week and a half's net income and Magistrates work on a default income figure of £440pw when means are unknown).

The difficulty with these restrictions is that there has not been enough time to provide proper guidance. That said there have been reports of ridiculous behaviour in some quarters not only by the police but also by some traders. I've read reports that some shop staff are trying to restrict the goods they sell to "essential" goods despite working in a shop which is categorised as essential under the regulations.
but they've also been handed the responsibility for getting people to obey coronavirus restrictions, so that's part of their job too, like it or not, for six months. How are they to do this?
- that was for Nailit
I’m guessing that her demeanour and attitude in court was exactly the same as when she was arrested and charged, hence the book was thrown at her.....page by page.
The police will always take the easy way out, such has using a drone on that couple in an isolated place taking there dog for a walk, but not one police officer on the London station this morning when people where packing into trains. A bit to much like hard work that one.

As someone who’s never had any dealings with the police, I’ll always come down on their side as doing a very difficult job that as humans, they don’t always get it right
What offence were the tube commuters committing though, teacake> Shouldn't The London Mayor be putting something in place to allow people to stay 2 metres apart- or restrict the number of tickets that are sold?
Police are just like every other group. Some of them are absolute ***
