If true, that's appalling.
Makes you weep to see that.
Words fail me.
I wonder if the councillor has shared that with the national newspapers - and if not, why not?
It’s true all over the UK. This is the quality of our population.
Shameful!..
Appalling. If it's true.
Disgraceful.
Disgusting, what an appalling waste.
Everything in the photos seems to be so neatly placed...I'm finding the "story" hard to believe...OK, I'll say what I really mean: I don't believe it one bit.
This was obviously going to happen - because the hoarders/panic buyers are cretins.

Still, Spath, I assume you have no real issue with the waste given your comments in this thread.

A study by savings site VoucherCodes.co.uk has revealed that the average UK household throws away £355.68 worth of food every year, equating to a startling £9.7billion across the country annually.
According to the research collated in February 2019, 65 per cent of UK adults admit to buying too much food that ends up being thrown away, with London and Newcastle reporting the highest rates of food waste.

That was from August last year.

It's a pity that when we throw food away in an average year, people aren't equally appalled.
You can leave me out of the "we".

I think it fair to be more appalled when the waste created shortages for others.

‘We’ as in ‘we as a country’. Too many buy food and throw a proportion of it away and these people don’t think about the energy it takes to make that food, the plastic wastage etc.

It’s a disgrace that goes on every day and too many ignore it until it’s in their faces like with story.

Money on it - when this is over, we (society) will go back to our regular food wasting habits.

Disgusting behaviour.
that's really awful if true but I did wonder how people stored all the fresh fruit and veg as the shelves were empty in week 1
I don’t believe it for a starter those banana are still fresh looking as is the rest of the food. It’s not unwrapped and just left like that seems very sus to me
^I agree.
Which council take bags beside bins , the food would be unpackaged to recycle packaging and food put
In brown bins ,could be but dunno .

You might have a point there.

I’ve just looked up details of Lad Bible.

This could be a wind up.
^... which is why I asked yesterday why the councillor hasn't shared this with the national press.
