I wouldn't depend on the tabloids to report the truth.... especially when they're on the warpath against someone.

Maybe, I don't know, but this isn't a passport, it's a social site. His name is Tommy Robinson, so it just seems a bit distracting otherwise.

And before anyone says it..I haven't exonerated him. Just reported the allegations.
I'm completely at a loss as to why there is a debate over the legality of his name. He can himself what he likes. He will be identified in Court.

To me what makes the whole thing about recording his daughter and sticking it on the internet even more stupid is that he is well aware (having been lectured by the judiciary in the past about such things) about the impact this might have on any future prosecution. But Tommy knows best!

Meanwhile his child now faces the fact that half the internet viewing world is of the view that she was sexually assaulted Poor little girl.
That was my point, BM. I'm no fan of his, but the least of it, is a valid name change. It just seems to distract from everything else.
Lovely chap isn’t he. Another one to add to this waste of skin’s criminal record collection.

I don't think he should have shown that interaction with his daughter, either.
But, we are where we are, as they say.
// Funny how some numbskulls condemn him without knowing any/all the facts, innit? //

There are two alleged offences about this story. The facts of one of the offences is that witnesses saw Robinson punch a man in the face, and he was arrested for assault.
It remains to be seen what facts emerge about the other alleged offence. Normally the name of the alleged victim is not reported, to protect her identity being revealed, but this anonymity is not possible because her father has published it.

// Witnesses claimed that Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, confronted another man before punching him in the face, it added. Bedfordshire Police confirmed that officers were called to reports of an altercation between two men at the holiday park at around 1.10pm on Sunday. "A 37-year-old man from Bedford was arrested on suspicion of common assault and has been bailed until April 2. An investigation is ongoing. //
Gromit - That seems a pretty balanced assessment of the situation.

I try to be careful only to comment on what I know - such as saying that 'Tommy Robinson' is a nasty goblin of a man, which is pretty evident, even to his supporters, who appear to think that is a plus in assessment of his character.

Should have quit there, gromit, while you were still ahead.
Tommy Robinson is a hero. He speaks the truth about things which some do not like.
Spicerack - // Funny how some numbskulls condemn him without knowing any/all the facts, innit? //

About as funny as the numbskulls who leap to his defence without knowing any / all the facts.

Speaking personally, I comment on what has been revealed by the people involved. Since that always involves 'Tommy Robinson' shooting his mouth off, preferably into a camera, there is no dispute about what he has to say.
We know that he is not bright, but most people would phone the police to report a sexual assault on a child, and then try to try and prevent the alleged assailant from leaving the scene. Apparently, even after confronting the alleged assailant, no call was made to the police to report sexual assault. The first the Police knew about the ‘justification’ was when he was being arrested.
SparklyKid - // Tommy Robinson is a hero. He speaks the truth about things which some do not like. //

Tommy Robinson is a loud-mouthed thug.

He is a convicted fraudster, a humiliated political candidate, and a regular and frequent physical assaulter of people.

Perception is everything.
So (lol) there we have it according to AH. We are all numbskulls.
Gromit - // We know that he is not bright … //

Actually I disagree, and have said so often.

I think Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is an articulate intelligent man, unfortunately, he chooses to live his life in public as an alter-ego who is a violent loud-mouthed ignorant stupid thug.
I expect he just forgot the child abuse in the heat of battle, as one does, and only recalled it when arrested.
SparklyKid - // So (lol) there we have it according to AH. We are all numbskulls. //

Speak for yourself - that is your adjective, not mine.
The ‘numbskulls who condemn himk know that.....

He is a former spokesman and former leader of the English Defence League (EDL)
He was a member of the British National Party (BNP) from 2004 to 2005.
He was joint vice-chairman of the British Freedom Party (BFP).
A leopard doesn’t change its spots.
He used the pseudonyms Andrew McMaster, Paul Harris and Wayne King. His most famous AKA name, Tommy Robinson, is in homage to a known football hooligan who was the leader of Luton Town’s MIG gang. Why anyone in their right mind would name themselves after such a person is beyond me. Maybe his defenders know?

His criminal record includes:
He pleaded guilty at to using someone else's passport to gain entry to the United States. He had been previously banned from entering the US due to a drugs offence.
He was convicted of three counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by misrepresentation relating to a mortgage application. The fraud apparently amounted to £160,000 over a period of six months, so no small beer.
He was convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour, for leading a group of Luton Town F.C. supporters into a brawl involving 100 people.
Being sentenced to 13 months' imprisonment for which also included activation of an earlier three-month suspended sentence for a similar contempt of court at Canterbury.
He was convicted of assaulting an off-duty police officer in a drunken argument. This resulted in him losing his job.
He was convicted in 2011 of using "threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour" during a fight between supporters of Luton Town and Newport County.
He was arrested after an EDL demonstration in Tower Hamlets in September 2011 for breach of bail conditions.
He was convicted of common assault after headbutting a fellow EDL member at a rally in Blackburn.
He received a suspended sentence for putting a trial at Canterbury Crown Court at risk of collapse, by broadcasting prejudicial statements about defendants from inside the court building.

Some of his other endearing actions:
He blamed "'every single Muslim' for 'getting away' with the 7 July bombings. His defence was 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.’
He attended court in support of Mark Meechan, who had been charged for a hate crime after posting footage online of a dog performing Nazi salutes in response to the phrases "gas the Jews" and "Sieg Heil". Meechan was found guilty.
In October 2018, Robinson falsely accused a Syrian boy who was a bullying victim, of previously attacking two schoolgirls.
He is also said to have made a false allegation using a photo stolen from a news article on a teenage cancer patient.

And now this latest episode.

About as funny as the numbskulls who leap to his defence without knowing any / all the facts.
AH, was this you ?
AH,
The SYL business model is to do something to get arrested for, and then his supporters donate lots of money (believing he is being persecuted and shut up).
The day he stops offending is the day he has to get a properjob.
